So to avoid the Melbourne V Roosters grand final we need one of them to lose and the other one to win next week. If they both win they go into the week off and straight through to the preliminary final and from there you would just about back them both to make it. If they both lose they move into opposite sides of the pool

That first game is going to be awesome.

The rest not so much.

Since 2006, every time the eels have made finals, they've played Melbourne... And lost

06 Finals Week 1
07 Prelim
(08 Eels missed)
09 Grand Final
(10 to 16 Eels missed)
17 Finals Week 1
(18 Eels missed)
19 Finals Week 2
... 20 Finals Week 1?

To add to that the most amount of points they've scored against them in finals is 16 pts.

Their attack isn't exactly going gangbusters at the moment either.

Since the Knights vs Souths game is locked in for week 1, why not have that as the Friday game? They both play this Friday and they'll have a 7 day turn around.
I agree with this. If they play the Penrith game on Friday, Panthers will have a day's less recovery than the Roosters. They would on Saturday too, but 7 day recovery is acceptable.
