My sons’ soccer club is wanting to set up an online store.

Just something super basic that allows us to put up pics of items, Offer sizes, sell the items and attach merchant facilities for credit card payments or PayPal as well as keep accurate stock levels.

We basically sell caps, Beanies, hoodies and jackets and some mugs with club logo.

As I have no experience, hoping someone reading this here might and can either assist or point me in right direction.

Check if your association has a platform available. A lot of junior sports do this - all clubs use the same platform and its already paid for and templated.

I’ve used wix previously for similar. Basic site and easy to use/set up - and I’m an IT nuffy...

there are loads of add ons, prompts etc which cost extra but if it’s purely a basic site you can have it for free pending your needs.
