I was crying when he got in too.

Thing is, he's Bradbury'd his way into a 27 man squad and everyone on here is all like 'bUt He's tHE chOSen one!!1

Please. It's water off a duck's back for me, but the one thing that really shits me is a jersey being cheapened.

Should we just ignore him like his dad did?

Is being run around like a witches hat by Earl an origin attitude?
Or is it skills based like the 4-5 knock ons in a single half last game he played?
Did you know Lomax was our top error maker this season with 27?

People criticise Hunt, but he only made 21 (not bad considering how many touches per game he has).

Made Lomax the 4th in the whole NRL for errors.

He was also 3rd highest for us in penalties conceded.

That being said, he’s still young so you’d expect him to improve over the next couple of seasons..

Anyway, back to my popcorn..

People more experienced and Rugby League savvy than me have included Zac in the squad. In fact the coach from the last 2 victorius Origin series is the one who has included him. Most of his games this season have been brilliant.Even the greats have an off day.He has defied the trend of the Dragons this year and has streaked ahead of all our Origin encumbents in terms of attitude ,consistency and performance.

Yea I hear you mate but Hunts touches (some) are just pass from dummy half , where Lomax is trying to create something from nothing as our attack has been sh*t ......

Lomax makes errors because he is in the play more often than many others and has to create his own opportunities in attack and defence. This is often a problem because he lacks quality players around him.I thought the conversation was whether he is up to Origin standard.Lets see how many errors he makes running off Keary or supported in defence

Lomax makes mistakes because he is in the play a lot trying to make opportunities that were not provided by his supposed support players.Lets see how many mistakes he makes when he is not having to cover defensively for second rowers and wingers as well as score extra points that should have been scored by team mates.

I’m just relaying the fox sports stats..

I think he’s a good player, but based on the stats I can see where others may have their reservations..

Hopefully Hook settles him down next year , and cuts out those mistakes ..... and that he doesn't need to produce something from every touch ....... Im sure he will be ok ......

What a legend Lomax has accomplished after just 1 full season in first grade. I'm obviously very happy for the bloke, but realistically what are the chance he gets a game?
I'd say Lomax has one right centre ahead of him. I know he will out enthuse most at training and so all he can do is put his best foot forward.

Griffin and the coaching staff will benefit greatly from the experience Lomax gains in the SOO squad, although Lomax has played SOO and international rugby league at junior level.

More Lomax contests the high ball put up by our halves, the better he will be at it and the more likely he will create opportunities for us to score points.

Lomax could drop every single bomb contest for all I care. An error contesting a bomb near or in the rivals tryline barely even counts as an error imo, the result is hardly different from if the rival team caught it cleanly. What the contests do is pressure other players, make it harder for them, and bring out errors in those affected. And on top of that, you add in the bomb contests which aid our team and it's basically nothing but benefits to the dragons, error or not

FMD some brain dead analysis going on in this thread.

Imagine how many tries we would not have scored if Lomax made no errors by not making any attempts to catch our own bombs?

The young bloke cares so much that he is in every contest he can make it to due to playing alongside lazy, couldn’t give a shit, got no idea, overpaid players.

At least if he contests the bomb and makes a mistake most times it stops/slows play not like some of the intercepts we have thrown and shit kicks down opposition throats that have led to or set up tries.

When Lomax gets some real help from players that can do their own jobs properly 90 - 100% of the time then his mistakes will drop rapidly.

I am a Zac fan and I’m sure he will play SOO at some stage
Good he made it to the squad and will develop further from this

however he still has a number of shortcomings and is error prone , not something you can really afford in origin
From a NSW perspective id rather have a few other guys actually playing instead of him like gutho even if he is not a specialist centre

TBH I don’t think the others should have been in the train on after such an abysmal season
There are better all round hookers and fritz hasn’t set the the world on fire
I know it’s a different group, game and coach and it will be good for Zac to get the exposure to the system but I hope we (NSW) don’t need him to play

just my , minority opinion , agreeing with Gitano!

Euan clearly dudded after a break out season
