I’d be very surprised if we don’t sign a number 6 before 2021 kick off. O’Brien is not a dummy and I’m sure that he realises that the 5/8 position is an area that needs to be improved. We signed Green without any prior knowledge and I’m expecting something similar happening before next season.

We still have the possibility of Green playing if he gets over his injury in time and gets match fit but at best is a stop gap for 2021 only and if used in coaching might be able to pass on tips to Crossland.
Still doesn’t fix our long term need for 6 & 7.

He isn’t the only half who could be on the move after it emerged that representatives for North Queensland playmaker Jake Clifford had asked for a release from his deal, potentially to join Newcastle next season.

The Knights have been looking to ease the burden on captain Mitchell Pearce and it is understood they have an interest in Clifford, who was earmarked as a future star in Townsville but has struggled for consistency over the past 12 months

Excellent news - the right coaching and in the right team he really could be a great player for us.

Clifford would be a good pickup. Has played a decent amount of first grade over the last couple of seasons and might just need a change of coach to get him firing. Seems to have good pedigree and the right skill set.

There is another obvious reason for Clifford. He and KP played NYC together and killed it. We have NQ’s recruitment guru. I am going to be honest and say if Brisbane get their second side the Cowboys could be in a bit of bother. The Titans seem to be about to become the dominant side up there. Actually they look premiership bound in a couple of years . A legit gun side now. Especially if those rumours about a certain evergreen number 9 and his drawn out ‘retirement’ plans eventuate!

I know being great in juniors doesnt always translate into a successful NRL career but he's certainly got the runs on the board that indicate a good player.

He tore us to shreds earlier this year..

Not sure if that's necessarily a sign of a good player though..
just looked at his kicking stats - interpolating for the amount of games he played ( 14) he'd give is one of the best short kicking games in the NRL ( for halves ) with regard to forced drop outs, ( 3rd if he'd played 20 games - 1 per game and twice as good as Pearce and just behind Reynolds and Cleary ) weighted kicks , attacking kicks. Going further kick mtrs per game he ranks 6th in the NRL

I thought Barnett looked better out on the edge. Hopefully we go with Frizzell and Barnett second row and we keep Fitz in the reserves.

Would like to see Sione start as lock and only play 30 minutes with Watson playing the other 50.
