Currently we could be looking at defensive powerhouse Waqa Blake on one side and perennial backups Tom Opacic / Michael Oldfield on the other...
lol, how dare you not get excited about signing a bloke who did his best work with One Nation.

He played 19 first grade games in 2019. But in 2020 he was a backup at the lowly Cowboys. He only played rounds 7,8 13,14 and 15. And in 2018 he was a backup at the Broncos playing only 10 games. He's not a first choice centre.

He did his knee during or just after the round 8 game, and was unavailable til round 13. You wouldn't (and we didn't) sign him as a first choice NRL centre, but it's not like you'd say 'they can't win most of their games with him playing there'. Injury is the biggest risk with his signing.

Opacic stats for his 5 games this year wasn’t to bad. 2 tries / 2 TA, averaging 12 runs / 90 m / 1.6 TB / 94% tackle success rate.

2019 was 19 games 7 tries / 5 TA. Averaging 11 runs / 96m / 2.6 TB / 89% tackle success rate

Obviously not superstar status, but definitely indicating some potential especially in a better side. Some attacking potential.

Maybe Isaako for centre next year, his on the outer at Broncos, can cover fullback and wing plus he can goal kick. Also Broncos will probably chip in for him.

If we were chasing Boncos players, surely we’d go Staggs or Farnworth first over Isaako.
I think Isaako could be a good player, but the other 2 are a bit more genuine quality

Broncos will try and hang on to Staggs and Farnworth, but young and have raw potential. Plus their price tag would be a lot higher.

I’m wondering if we are interested in Joe Ofahengaue? There’s been a few reports Kevvie is prepared to let him go. We’re obviously in the market for someone to replace Evans. Not sure if he fits the bill or not.

He was absolutely horrible for the donkeys this year, 2 times been done for a DUI and an incident at the Casino.

Massive no thanks from me.

That’s what the matrix told us.
Hey mate

how do u think Shaun Wane would go being an assistant for B.A ? did a brilliant job for wigan and is looking at trying to get into the nrl.
And is England coach.
I’d love to see him get a crack.

He's a winger.

Edit: looks like he's played more centre than wing in recent years. That's ok though. His teams have been winning games. His career record at centre is 9 and 4. An almost 70% win rate, albeit a small sample.

Like I said, other then plod lovers like yourself, there is a reason why a lot of us are getting antsy when it comes to the signing so far. Absolute plodders.

We need a couple of decent signings at least or we can forget about next season being genuine premiership contenders.

It's the same guy. That's why he a good quality backup. He was good for the Raiders in the few games they had to use him.

Generally the problem with guys like these they can't sustain good form for too many games of NRL in a row, that is why they end up finding themselves in reserve grade. They are good for a few games here and there. Then drop off there intensity. Start missing tackles, e.t.c or simple not making much of an impression during the game.

he's no world beater, but 31 tries in 55 NRL games (and 60 from 100 including Super League) suggests he is ok. I don't think it's so much an issue of consistency with Oldfield, he's reliable without being special at anything.
