Looking at our squad without us being able to force players out I think we need to spend our remaining salary cap and spots on.
1 tackling lock
1 hooker/ utility large build
1 fringe winger/fullback
1 solid fullback option
1 large mobile backrower
+ replace any position we are able to release early eg. Fifita with another front row option but not necessarily the amount they where on.

Bevan French is worth a sneaky look. Very good in England. Whether that means he's ready for the NRL again im not sure.

Way out of our price range.

I'd love us to nab someone like Peats. Inexpensive, a back up who could play a role off the bench in the middle or when injuries hit. We need depth.
I suggested peets a coupla months back and got howled down

I wouldn’t use the form of French in Super League to make a decision on signing him.
Yes, he’s scored some flashy tries, but the defences in SL are notoriously poor anyway, but this COVID hit season in particular, you’ve regularly got severely weakened teams as they’re playing a minimum of 3 games every 14 days. A few teams are playing 4 games in 14 days, so they’re massively rotating squads. A large number of players who were playing in the part time lower leagues last year have been getting regular game time this year in SL.
He also still looks frail in defence and does ZERO donkey work out of his own half.

Brian Mcdermott Toronto Wolfpack coach in line to be an assistant next year. Anyone know much about him?

Travel restrictions have loomed as a major hurdle in Englishman Brian McDermott joining Cronulla’s coaching staff next season. McDermott was set to be announced as John Morris’ assistant coach but the ongoing uncertainty in the boarders has now made the move problematic. Morris now needs to look elsewhere with ex-Shark and interim Cowboys coach Josh Hannay now a potential target.

Piss woods and Fifita off and go for Emre. He is ready to lead a team and not play second fiddle. We need a game breaking fullback and also need a cheeky half. Maybe a gun centre but that might be pushing the friendship. Edge backrower wouldn’t go astray either.

FFS!!..Wouldn't take hannay for free.

Anybody see how well the cows went under him?

cows were long gone by the time he took over from Green.. Hannay hardly a big target signing but he's been at the Cows under Green for a little while and probably has something to offer (more than what we've got in any case!)

Cronulla Sharks set to throw veteran Bulldog NRL lifeline
By The Mole

CRONULLA are thinking of throwing veteran former Storm and Bulldogs forward Aiden Tolman a lifeline in 2021.

The 31-year-old was expected to retire when Canterbury told him there was no room for him at Belmore next season but still has the hunger to play on.

His manager has been holding secret talks with the Sharks are there is a real possibility he will sign a one-year deal in coming weeks.

The Sharks have question marks over the fitness of props Andrew Fifita and Royce Hunt, who both suffered serious injuries last season.

"We are a bit skinny for depth in the front row and that's where Aiden could come in handy," a Sharks source told Wide World of Sports.

"He is highly respected and has the experience that would help our young blokes."

The Sharks have two spots left on their roster for next season and are currently examining their options.

That doesn’t sound right. He can get here if he wants, just needs to isolate.

Not that simple, he isn't an Australian. The government is obviously making exemptions for touring sides to come and go, but getting permission for someone to come in permanently is probably a lot more trouble.

Although if we want him, I'm sure ScoMo would make an exception for us!
