It’s a crying shame if anyone chooses to feel offended by my post, which I do agree, is politically incorrect.

But then again that is what is so enjoyable about it.

I’m not offended. I’m certainly not a prude.

I like the concept of exploring alternative and non-conventional ideas in an educational setting. That’s where development happens.

None of this has to do with what I am getting at.

The game has a well earned reputation for being full of dumb mugs. Culturally a guy does not even fit in if he speaks properly (see DCE). I think it would help the game to ditch that reputation by having more people at uni.

Fully agree.I am the first to cringe when a player is interviewed and two stilted words come out.The clubs used to give players lessons in dealing with the media>that should be a must.
I bag Cameron Smith at times ,but you've got to hand it to him, he handles himself well with the spoken word, as do the Turbos,Sean Johnson and many others. The NRL provides a record of players completing uni degrees each year ,eg Russel Packer quite a decent number in fact..Check it yourself.

The code is a lot more encompassing/multicultural than the AFL for starters.A shy Fijian guy isn't going to come to a mic, and speak as though he has done it all his life.
Sure there are dumb mugs involved, but the AFL is not far behind on that matter, and their media is far more protective.

TBH to say a guy doesn't even fit in if he speaks properly,I call BS.Players fit in if they can play as part of a team, have a laugh at training. The Storm show this .

Exhibit A, Some of our politicians with uni degrees are great speakers and debaters, but when it comes to plain commonsense sheesh.
Don't get me wrong education is so important these days.

well, the Soviets won the race to space Mr McCarthy.
How did all of their nuclear powerplants go?

Back in the 50s, Russians built secret cities for nuclear powerplants. They still exist today. Back in those days the Russians would handle the uranium with their bare hands. They didn't live long. Instead of disposing of the nuclear waste safely, they just poured it into rivers and lakes. The poor bastards who rely on this water to irrigate their crops, bathe and drink from, die in their 30s and 40s. There are areas in Russia that are more contaminated than Pripyat. Anyone who tries to flee these cities is executed. There have been explosions at these facilities as bad as Chernobyl. There was one just a few years ago. A large mass of radiation was detected in Siberia.

Do you actually know anyone who was affected by socialism and communism?

I do and trust me, they don't speak highly of it.

Relocate the Broncos to one of these cities.

From the salary cap to the education system to socialism and communism, womens rights, nuclear power to the conceptual lie that is toxic masculinity.

And then we end up with T-Boons vid of a handful of complete & utter losers who deserve never to even hold a Steeden let alone have mates and play a contact sport.

I think we have covered all bases now. Go home all relaxed you guys.

Encouraging players to experience the leftist whingist sookist environment of universities is not a good idea.
Yep, because discouraging tertiary education because your perception of what university is doesn't align with your political leanings is a great move, speaks volumes really. Solid rationale.

"whingist sookist" you've just described the actions of the figurehead of Americas conservative politics over the past few weeks to a tee, ironic isn't it.

I wish I could give this post 1,000,000 likes, because it is so true. Unis need to get rid of the leftist shit and just focus on STEM. Politics shouldn't have any place in the education system.
I'm guessing you haven't attended university. This certainly wasn't the case when I attended. Sure there were left leaning groups (student union etc), easy solution for me was not to engage with anything I didn't have an interest in. My field of study was more left leaning (in thought process than most), I find the belief that universities are a breeding ground for radical lefties is an urban legend.

Unfortunately Politics is ingrained in our education system, with the government of the day implementing changes, some subtle, others not so much.
