Next year they need to move both Cordner and Frizell on, either Wighton play five eight or not at all. Him and Gutherson just lack the size and strength to be effective at centre. They need to pick a utility on the bench.

Players like Klemmer, Graham, Latrell and Tom Trbojevic must return to the 17 whilst Paypenhauzen and Staggs should be making their debuts.

You were going so well up until you mentioned Staggs. He’s good in attack but can’t defend to save his life.

Obviously he needs improvement in that area and would have to see how he’s going next year. If he’s left out altogether, I wouldn’t mind at all. Tom Trbojevic played incredibly well at centre in 2019 and would happily have him there and pick another winger.

It wasn't all Clearys fault but he was definitely one of the worst. A completely contrasting performance to Game 2. He went from best on ground to worst imo. Its just an opinion, not sure why people are taking things personally. Cleary is a good player, just not when it matters.
He's rated as NSW best in all ratings I've seen. And honestly who did better than he did in the blues team?

Considering how badly his team went he exceeded reasonable expectations of a halfback in those circumstances.

But of course he cops the blame when his team gets demolished even when he's their best player.

Genuine utilities are like gold when players go down. You take a risk not carrying one. Freddy took that risk tonight. He lost with a far better side.

Well QLD had a utility for game 2, didn’t do them much good.

I’d say incidents like the main kicker and captain getting tackled on the 5th in the last 2 minutes hurt more then having a Jack of all trades master of none sitting on the bench

Man lot of bagging on Cleary in here, poor bastard wasn't gonna do shit the way the blues forwards were bent over tonight, can't compare with Pierce, often the blues forwards dominated during his time and he still f**ked it up.

Pick him, don't pick him, as a maroons fan I'd rather you not
Cleary and the whole NSW squad will learn from this. But as usual, discipline is still the Blues' Kryptonite.

For a bloke who got 3 Dally M points week in and week out Wighton was quite useless tonight. Frizell likewise. Haas not much better although he did appear to do some tackling. Too many players picked on reputation.

By the way, I wouldn't be so quich to call for Latrell's return solely on the grounds of others going bad.

What ifs are tough. What IF valentine could catch!? To be fair NSW defended well on their line, but far closer than they probably should have been.

Val landed a cracker for the first try, and should have scored their last but for the drop. Break even I’d suggest for him.

NSW just screwed the pooch on this one. FIFO or not, they were strangers. And when your team plays like strangers you look at the leaders and playmakers..

The blues who played well?

Crichton, Addo-Carr, Saifiti and Tupou are the ones who only come to mind.

Tedesco (captain by default) wasn’t in the game long enough to really judge but NSW weren’t flying well at all even while he was there.

All the others simply weren’t what we needed. Some worse than others but those who stick out are your playmakers and leaders.

Id rate them as follows

Tedesco - N/A
Tupou - good
Wighton - fail (but out of position)
Gutherson - pass (played mostly in position)
Addo Car - good.
Walker - Fail
Cleary - Fail
Trbojevic - Fail
Frizell - Fail
Crichton - Good
Haas - Fail
Cook - Fail
Saifiti - Pass

Yeo - pass (out of position)
Finucane - fail
Paulo - Pass
Brown - fail (but hardly given a run)

of the Fails...

Walker - is the best in the NRL at opening up teams when the forwards get on a roll... which they never did tonight.

Wighton - isn’t a centre. For the life of me - Dally M Winner is a 5/8 and he’s playing centre... FFS

Cleary - Ourstanding all year but in the two biggest games (GF and Tonight) he’s blown a huge raspberry. Looks completely out of sorts and apart from a great 40/20, it was kick and hope...

Frizell - best years are sadly behind him. I love the bloke and served my club well. All guts. But not concerned he’s moved on.

Trbojevic - I saw him but it was like he was in the middle trying to fill the enormous void in the halves. Nothing like the damaging lock in the middle he can/should be.

Haas - Dane Carlaw for the blues tonight. Looks like Tarzan, but played like Jane. Maybe unfair and haven’t seen stats but at no stage do I recall him getting on top of anyone.

Cook - dunno what to say really. Rarely (if at all) in top gear on the back of our forwards. Like Haas I don’t remember much of anything he did.

Finucane - toiled but in my mind this guy is a starter. He’s the mortar to bond the bricks. I might be harsh giving a fail and stats might prove me wrong.

Brown - purely by “where was he??”. Don’t know what game time he got but seemed like sweet FA to me - so maybe fail the coach instead.

Lost the Dally M, lost the Premiership, lost the Origin series = Loser and he is a liar like his f**kwit father...great year son.

I was a fan of Wighton in the centres but not anymore, IMO wighton is either 5/8th, bench utility or not in the team. Turbo aside because he's a freak you need specialist centres. I'm a fan of Haas but he completely went back into his shell tonight, didn't take many runs and when he did run he didn't run with enough conviction, alot of sideways stuff
