yeah the 65 to 70K seat .. new main rectangle venue to replace ANZ was to be built across the road from the SFS at Kippax lake ... it looked perfect .. all the new light rail infrastructure was to service it so easily accessed from central

but it got shouted down.

simply not enough room on the present sfs site for anything bigger then the present 42K venue being built

Thats because the old SSG had been transformed to a poorly designed car park and NRL and ARU HQ

I would prefer to that car park transformed to a open air beer and restaurant area with visitor car park added to NRL HQ. With something like the ANZ Locker Room added near the corner of Driver Ave and Moore Pk Road

With the training field to have a 500 seater stand added and a tar 100 car park for A or Junior grade game days

Move the car park to east of the SFS and make a multi-storey

Oh yeah my bad, for some reason i always thought it was SCG, must have been coz of the rebuild like you said, as far as the before and after party, moore park itself has minimal pubs unless you walk down to Surrey hills area and there's a long street full of old school pubs, but SFS only has fox studios/hayden pavillion there, not the same vibe as caxton street, Newcastle on the other hand has that same caxton street vibe with Beaumont street, unfortunately from the SFS you'd have to travel to get to anything like this, there is a disconnection between big staduims and local pubs, leichardt has darling street, penrith and parra has the leagues clubs, not sure about manly..
SfS has fox studios.... yay!

On abc news, please meeting with Gladys this afternoon and demanding $800M for new stadiums or they will take the gf to Brisbane.

yep Vlandys has to tell gladys to cut the BS , fork it over & sooner rather then later ... or ... thats it.
too many iron clad agreements with this govt have been broken & we have just bent over & taken it

enough is enough
no GFs , no origins ... nothing unless we get what we're owed.

Rugby League is the biggest sport in NSW , its about time it was treated with a bit of respect.

The NRL has threatened to move the GF over these stadium agreements at least two or three times now, and every time the NSW government has walked all over them and the NRL hasn't followed through on the threat.

So if you are the NSW government why would you listen to the threat now, when every other time it's been hollow?

Well he has public threatened to move the GF to Brisbane if the NSW Government fail to honour the grounds agreement according to this article - https://wwos.nine.com.au/nrl/grand-...lays-hard-ball-over-grand-final-threat_251120

Is taking “a” GF to Brisbane that big a threat? Maybe if he said they would look to take the GF on the road and sell it to major cities it might have been more of a concern to the nsw govt. Taking one game away hardly seems like something that would get the nsw govt to commit $800mill, especially considering it hasnt been identified in their budgets for next year.

How surprising .
The AFL fanboy puts a negative spin on something PVL does to try to benefit RL .
Once again your PVL hate is on show.

Latest on the new Christchurch stadium - delay in the tender process, but still on track to be built & open at the end of 2024.

I sure hope this sways the NRL towards some games in our biggest southern city. By 2025 we should have Covid under control, and hopefully with Brisbane 2 and *fingers crossed* Perth added as 17th & 18th clubs, further extending the game's footprint may be a big consideration.

Brisbane Roar have moved all home games from Suncorp to Dolphins Stadium. Backward step for the A League, but good crowds will strengthen Redcliffe’s bid for Brisbane 2.

Given PVL’s attitude towards the ‘non Rugba League’ states, of course PR’s attitude is not surprising. Most people in WA, Vic, SA, Tas & NT probably feel the same way. I certainly do. We are the enemy after all.

PR's right though isn't he.

If V'landys meant 'a' GF, then threatening to take one GF away isn't that much of a threat is it.

I mean look at it from the NSW governments' point of view they get everything their way, but lose the tourism money from a GF for one year, after which everything goes back to the status quo, and that's if we assume that the NRL will follow through on their threats, which they have a history of not doing.

Even if the NRL follow through on their threat, at worst they are giving the NSW government a light slap on the wrist.

Considering the icy relationship between Gladys and the QLD premier lately I'm sure Glady's doesn't want to give her or QLD any more reason to gloat.

PVL doesn't seem like a guy to bluff also.
