Maybe Mary's repainted gym is past its use by date..or they just like the UNI training facilities better ;)

Well it’s doing the Dragons for now I’m assuming keeping away from the wolves around the CBD and courthouse
Maybe the club has learnt something over the past 2 years

Having a retrial?

It’s common practice after a hung jury..

It might be however that doesn’t mean it’s morally correct. The defendants have had their lives turned upside spent hundreds of thousands of dollars defending themselves and because the DPP don’t get the result they want they have a second go.

It’s extremely morally correct as there wasn’t an outcome.

For the defendants they haven’t had the chance to clear their name if they are innocent as they claim.

And for the accuser they haven’t had justice if the defendants are guilty as they claim.

Morally it’s the better outcome for both parties.

Yes good point, disastrous as it is for roster management and JDB’s football career IF one was innocent of these charges you would fight tooth and nail to clear your name. Notwithstanding the other side of the equation too which you mentioned.

And if the next one is the same result where do you stop. On this subject we differ.

Until there is an outcome.. It’s only fair to both parties.

It’s something crazy like 1 in 10 jury trials wind up hung..

What we don’t know in any of those cases is what lines they were split on - there will be cases where some are majority guilty and others majority innocent..

At this stage no one has been convicted and no one has been cleared of charges, so it’s back to the start.

April isn’t a bad result tbh. Hopefully this whole drama is sorted out by the start of May 2021 either way and everyone can move forward

Having personally lived thru something similar and seen both the mental and financial toll it takes I can assure you it isn’t. For JDB it’s all down side for the DPP they get a second chance. Who cares if he is not found not guilty, with a hung jury he doesn’t go to jail and in 6 months most people have forgotten about it.

The DPP will ultimately determine when it stops and that will be when they no longer think a prosecution can be obtained.

So for them to continue on they obviously think there is a good chance of obtaining a guilty verdict

If one in ten trials get hung up, maybe we should be looking at the competence of the DPP. But I am pretty sure that lot don't do introspection.

what ever happened that night you would like to think this is a cautionary tale that the other players will learn from but they are unfortunately so dumb and the culture is so bad in terms of who their role models are (agents, coaches, ex players) that I really don't think anything will be learned by anyone.
