Round three vs The Storm

This is what I think will happen. If Nathan doesn't play, I can see Matt being names at 6 but actually playing 14 when the game starts.

I believe May will play 7 as he and Lui played juniors together and know each others game well.

Penrith will hold their cards close to their chests, (see Api injury last week as an example)

Nathan I believe if his tests come back good, is a more than 75% chance of playing, especially against the Storm.

Shout out to Kenny he is being mentored well by Api that set up for Bill K's try was a gem.
I think you pretty well nailed it. I think that if Nathan can play, he will play. They are happy about the uncertainty.

Are you two confident of a victory, with, or without, Nathan?

What has Burton done that makes him a better option at 14?

TMay is the best 14 in the comp, replacing the best player in a position with someone who is not better, is actually crazy.

There is no point guessing what Burton can do on an edge, he’s not done enough to demonstrate he’s worthy of replacing someone in our starting 17.

I would say B.Smith is best 14 in comp as far as injecting energy goes. One of your old rejects W.Smith goes good too.
May I haven't seen enough of but he looks talented. Same goes for Burton. But your 14 idealy covers for your hooker. And adds a bit of spark. He also can cover positions in the backline.
Having 3 others forwards on the bench means your 14 is only stealing mins off them or your starter. Is May or Burton going to be better then Kikau,Martin,Capewell,Leinu,JFH,Leota or Eisenhuth in the pack? If not they offer little.

W.Smith covers any position in the spine. An excellent no 9. I am sure Burton is a far better player but how does he improve your 17 unless starts. So using my theory W.Smithnis a better 14. Unless Burton is able to cover 9?

May covers the halves, hooker, centre and could play in the forwards also. He is also under contract. I would chose him and develop him further. He is only 24 and only had 37 games. Most off the bench. Prob equivalent too 15 odd games.
His development due to suspension puts him back 1.5yrs....

Nath and Api are our 2 most important players. We'll do really well to win this one but it will be great to see Burton in first grade again. Hopefully he makes it impossible for Ivan to leave him out of the 17 moving forward

A real shame those two look to be out. Two best players.
Storm are missing Kafusi,Finucance and Grant. If NAS is also out I would make the Panthers favourites. But without your 2 x best spine players I can see a very tough game.

I'd disagree with this. I think it would be weakening both Halfback and our Utility position unneccessarily.

Neither May or Luai have the game management skills required to grind away against the Storm. And neither have a long kicking game.

I agree Cheese is a great 14, but I don’t think he’s better.
Prop and Wing are literally the only positions May doesn’t have experience in playing.

I honestly think he adds a lot more than he gets credit for, I’ll be the first to admit that I didn’t really notice how much he adds.

I was watching the Doggies game, at work, with a bunch of dogs supporters. They all said how they hate it when May comes on. I said why?? He’s usually only covering Api or a forward, they said it was because he’s a smart player and always creates something. Nek minute, try.

Just think Landry thinks we should just release Burton? How ironic that one of his players may have knocked Nathan into Disneyland.
That was my first thought when it happened. The irony of a Dogs player demonstrating why it would be madness to release Burton.

If Burton does come in he starts. Makes no logical sense to put a half on the bench and a utility at half.

I disagree, it's about combinations. I like Lui and May together. May slotted in against the dogs so easily.

But as others have said Burton does have a long kicking game.

I think Cleary is a good chance of playing, provided he passes his concussion tests.

Combinations are great so I see what you're saying but Burton is the only true halfback in the team if Cleary is out. Ivan would have to deliberately weaken the team to get the combination.

The commentators will use it but I will never call it by that name.
Panthers Stadium or Penrith Park.
