So this conviction was overturned a few days ago yet received a minuscule amount of coverage as opposed to the lead up from the original speculation, charges, and conviction.

Cases like this being overturned on appeal aren't particularly newsworthy because usually it's a sitting judge (or panel of judges) making the decision based on the conduct of the initial court proceedings, rather than the case itself. With a case that is largely hearsay like this, an outcome on appeal in favour of Burgess always seemed likely.

I think it's more a case that the downfall of a "big name" (whatever arena they exist in) is seen as far more lucrative pursuit by journalists than the vindication of one.
