Nope but it seems like they are getting their merch from d.H.gate, its a site u go to for cheap overseas made jerseys, you'll know this as they ONLY have Mens Adults sizes, no womens or kids, the quality is good from fake_jerseys, and generally $30 each, this site is selling most for double the price, where as rebel etc sell for quadruple/quintuple the price.

They're not selling the same jerseys so I'm not sure why you're comparing pricing.

So we’re justifying bootleg, counterfeit jerseys now?

Each to their own, no one forces you to pay premium for "authentic" teamwear, most people are happy with $60 sponsorless best$less, and other prefer to spend $30 on a present that is no different from the $160 you'd pay at rebel

however i did notice the text in the retros is BLACK whilst in every on field pic i can find from 92 the text is RED.... anyone know why? or just one of them things they had to change/copyright issue etc?

Classic deliberately change things like this so they cant be passed off as originals, even in the case of jerseys they didnt make for the teams when they were worn on field.

Ive seen some of the original Eels retros with the classic tags and logos removed and Westmont stuff added to make them appear as originals and they were pretty close, so its a good thing i think

I guess that’s one way of describing why the Dragons retro’s are so shit.

If we can have
NY Giants vs NY Jets
LA Lakers vs LA Clippers
Manchester United vs Manchester City

and so on

Then we can have
Brisbane Broncos vs Brisbane Jets
Yeah this 'we can't have two teams called Brisbane' thing seems to be an almost uniquely Australian issue, when all the evidence suggests that having multiple clubs representing the same city in name has no impact on their success.

If anything restricting the teams appeal to a smaller region within the city/metro area, by calling them Redcliffe or Morton Bay for example, will have significantly more of a negative effect on them than simply sharing the Brisbane name with the Broncos.

Besides the Dolphins shouldn't be allowed anywhere near an NRL license at all unless they are willing to create a totally new brand for the NRL side, but that is a different issue.

And we tried it in the 90s (albeit with existing teams, Sydney VS Sydney) and it sucked.

The Phoenix have a ‘Wollongong’ jersey. The A league have more of a Steelers jersey than the actual NRL.

Not comparable at all.

The Tigers and Bulldogs changing their names to 'Sydney' was broadly rejected because it was seen as what it was; a tokenistic attempt made by pre-existing clubs to expand their appeal by changing their name to include all of Sydney. They may have been called Sydney, but they were still Balmain and Canterbury to everybody that mattered.

In other words they were 'Sydney' in name only, which BTW is part of the reason why the Dolphins should be required to completely rebrand their NRL team if they want a license, but again that is an aside.

A new team, starting with a new brand wouldn't face those issues.

Also bringing up population is just a BS excuse, broadly speaking an unappealing brand is unappealing no matter the size of the market.
Even setting that aside you are cherry picking, Brisbane's population is 2.62mil, Greater Manchester 2.822mil, and I think we can all agree that if we could build a derby in Brisbane even half the size of Utd vs City that we'd be absolutely stoked.
