Respect from 2010 for what he dd that year Yes. Means nothing on the playing field in 2022 (12 years later) if not up to it or better options within. That is straight out of the Doust / Young and Mary reign.
Just ask the Wabbits and Adam Reynolds, they won a comp only 8 years ago.
But IMHO he has not done enough on field to date.
Time flies doesn’t it

McGuire set to seal Dragons deal for immediate switch
Josh McGuire is set to agree to an 18-month Dragons deal that could mean he dons the red and white as early as Sunday's clash with the Warriors.

It is understood North Queensland and St George Illawarra have agreed to the final terms of a release for McGuire, with the signing set to be officially announced on Tuesday.

The Dragons have enjoyed a stark turnaround under Griffin, surging to a 4-1 start with their upset of Parramatta on Sunday evening.

Spot on. Merrin is playing better but riding on the others in the pack efforts. May need him with a rotation policy for the forwards later in season to avoid burn out.

Merrin is playing great. If he wants another year he deserves it.

Surely one thing we know about Hook is that what players want & get can be completely different. Brain explosions like that pass on Sunday are still there. Not saying that his form is not better than last season ( but then again everyone's is ) and it is up to NRL standard but not that good that he can dictate to the club when he retires. Dont know what he is on but if at the end of the season he warrants another year perhaps a 350- 400k take it or leave it offer may be on the table. "Hookball " strikes again !

Craig Fitzgibbon agrees three-year deal with Cronulla Sharks

Cronulla have got their man. Craig Fitzgibbon has agreed to coach the Sharks on a three-year deal.

The deal, which starts next season, gives John Morris a big decision to make. Given the way the decision has been made it would be surprising if he stayed on in any capacity.

Fitzgibbon is hoping to bring Cameron Ciraldo with him to the club, with the Panthers assistant coach highly regarded.
