But, I would hope that with Turner so close to the team at the moment, and with him potentially heading off (has he actually signed with the Broncos?), if there’s going to be a swap that it would be him.

However I would gladly take a reshuffle with him in the backline with one of the others dropping out

I think JTB being out of the side is the right call. Good upcoming player but i think hes become overrated somehow

He's pretty solid. JTB had a good rookie season. He's finding his way and seems to know his role. With more experience via game time the better. He is blooding very well considering Warriors are known to make most players go backwards when they come here. I don't think anyone is overrating JTB among the fans / media.

I think its because they don't want to get smashed. Other hard halves such as Wighton, Cleary, Hughes etc. are not afraid taking on the line getting smashed some times.

Yeah, that's exactly why I asked. Johnson was actually a pretty good defender in his latter years with us, but had a real disinterest in taking on the line. I guess the broken leg v Manly played a part in that. Kodi, I guess just doesn't like the contact.

And yeah, I'm not fond of that side he's picked. Hiku is our centre. Harris has excelled playing in the 12, not as a prop. And Curran, I hope he's improved on last year because he was Jazz last year without any actual football impact (ie just a penalty-causing dick).

We'll see how Evans goes, a Parra mate has maintained we've inherited a looks like Tarzan plays like Jane sort of scenario.

On Katoa. I think he has a bit of skill and is suited to 13, Brown is playing him as a defensive second rower and this is taking it out of him.
I don't think anybody in the team is enjoying their football.

i am wondering if Brown is remembering what a mess Bradman Best made of Hiku which lead to 2 tries that ended up costing us that game. Otherwise I agree he should be playing centre feeding our wingers as no one else has been up to that job.

I am ok with Brown transferring Katoa to reggies after reading his comments about building his confidence.

The flip side of that reveals they are concerned he has lost that confidence, and that can only be revealed by what a player themselves is saying about where they think their game is at.

He has a big future at the Warriors, so I think it is the right thing to protect him a bit in his development. It happens to so many players in that second year.

I guess I am feeling very philosophical about this year.

Two very very salient points... need to find that balance, back in the day it's what Anderson managed - if we want a team of defensive bots, they should build the roster that way...
