I get the impression that we might be chasing Tevita Pangai.

In the last few days Brent Read reported that the Broncos were about to have a cleanout with too many big earners among their forwards. Pangai was one of the names listed as potential departures.

Concurrently, WT have data analyst Scott Woodward on their books. He was interviewed by Jimmy Smith on SEN yesterday and gave an exclusive that "Tevita Pangai was declaring himself available for NSW."

Smith asked him where the mail came from but Woodward didnt want to say.

Pangai played one of his best games in years last week.

It's a given that Billy Walters will be returning to Brisbane so the Tigers and Broncos must be in ongoing dialogue. A couple of player swaps have been mooted. Maybe this is the next of them?
Though you can always use good forwards I would of thought backs are our biggest weakness.

We certainly are in good stead re forwards & we glaringly have one of the most inept backlines in the comp. Our 2-5 are shithouse & a big reason y we won’t be qualifying for finals footy again.
I still think Nofo is ok. Had a shocker against the cowboys, and has some problems in defence, though a lot of his defensive problems originate inside him with other players flying up or letting their man get outside them. Poor edge defence can make wingers look horrible. The one tip I’d have for Nofo would be to have a look what is going on with the defence inside him before he makes a defensive decision. A lot of the time he reacts to the opposition, flying up and in when he Probly should sit tight, force the attack back inside him and try buy time for the men inside. Sounds simple enough but when you’re isolated they’re tough choices.

Trouble for me Nofa seems to have been doing it for ever, hasn’t Payten got both the Warriors and Cows to exploit it and from memory we have been shown up by many coaches?

This is who he is. He has some great games like last weekend though. I think you've just gotta ride the highs and the lows.

Nofo is basically our only first grade winger. Kepaoa and Talau are the other options at the moment.

I reckon the talent pool in the comp is pretty low. With another team coming into the comp I don't know how any team is going to get better.

The focus should be our outside backs. We need an a really classy outside back.

If I was Madge, I’d pick up Jackson from the airport and drive him to the game personally.

Brooks to 5/8 and shuffle Doogie over.

Nofo remains in my side untouched and fully appreciated.

Tommy to be omitted.

I reckon Doueihi stays at 6. If Hastings is good enough he can take the 7 from Brooks. Brooks might be a quality utility. I reckon we should be leaving Doueihi at 6 for a while yet.

This is why, you're not a selector:D:D:D:D:D:D

Benji said brooksy can do 5/8 easy and Doogie can’t be left out because he can play good footy almost anywhere.

If this a training nrl gap year, we should get brooksy used to 5/8!

If I am such a f**ked up selector, how come we are coming second last?!!

Madge should be ringing us lu boys every hour!

Everyone take a step back and suck in that we are one of the worst performing clubs in the nrl at the moment.

And on that basis, there should be no serious criticism of anyone who wants to select a few players in positions that would normally cause some discomfort.

What do we have to lose?!

I put 20 cents in and he told me the WT Naden signing will be announced within 2 weeks.

The contract will worth be about 400k. He will start with us in November.

Then he said, Bj will offered $200k for next year so as to keep Lucy. Lucy will chip in 50k to keep them together.

Then he said, we will finish the season with only 6 wins but Madge will get his chance next year anyways.

I put another dollar in, it coughed twice, I put $2 in and then it didn’t work.

Hearing a lot of rumours (not all regarding Tigers):
  • Rudolf to Bulldogs
  • A Reynolds to Sharks (replacing Townsend)
  • Moses potentially to Broncos (more than likely a bargaining chip)
  • Staggs knocked back Titans offer
  • Bulldogs trying to steal Naden from underneath us (apparently terms have been agreed but nothing signed)
  • Tigers targeting Oates for this year but Broncos to pay some of the freight
  • Tigers targeting Isaih Papali'i for 2022
If it were me deciding who Tigers should target for 2022
  • Staggs
  • Rudolf
  • John Morris (assistant coach)

Oates has feet for hands.. can't catch a fkn ball. No thanks

Isaih Papali'i has been very good this year and shouldn't be too expensive

I hope we don’t sign Naden. Gifted but undisciplined - the best thing for him would be to go to Melbourne.

Nope, the hate between @stryker and I will never die. It is timeless, eternal and our joint destiny.

I’ve made my point about Madge well known in that I think his fortunes are tied to a lift in individual performances of players.

Some are going well, most are not.

On the balance, we played well against Souths...for 70 minutes. There was apparent growth, but then we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory which was total failure.

I think there were at least 3 of us here who said that the overall performance did not meet expectations and Madge has to take some blame for that. No excuses, we pissed an 8 pt lead up against the wall. Game mis-management. We lost it, they didn’t win it. Even with bad calls, we still f**ked ourselves up. We can’t rely on luck to win games. The rabbits just kept coming.

Without 3 good games in a row ( even if we lose) I don’t think we are where we need to be and Madge is a candidate for “show cause” at the end of the season. We have a club option for 22 and 23. I think he might agree.

Now against my consternation and criteria are the extremists on both sides. That includes the “ Madgers” and I think they propose that because of the legacy cap catastrophe, his first real season is next year and that the last few years have been about change. They argue it’s wrong to judge him on what is a reserve grade outfit with a small handful of true first graders. Madge inherits 75% retirees and plod. They cite the magic of Laurie, Doogie and Lucy who are all playing well above their known max with plenty of improvement left. All Harto recruits with Madge consulting. This is compelling evidence. A lot of the smug fans on LU now think they should have kept Laurie. Is he playing better under Madge than he did under Ivan and co? Seems that way. They think so anyway.

Do we have the patience for Madge?

I’m more on the fence, but I’m not unwilling to cut our losses without the growth. I don’t think we should close out any options. If there’s really no pulse by the end of the season, It would be upsetting etc, but he’d have to go. Manly will want him anyway.

But Hastings must feel Madge is Ok to come over. That helps Madge’s claims. I think that’s fair comment and Im positive and well pleased with that.

Madgewatch more rewarding with an open mind I think.

I meant your criticism of your much beloved Brooks as not having the game management to ice a game and then u still want him at 6
