As i said cody has played alot of FB, benji in 6 cody 1 gagai stays in the centres moga on wing, wont stop fafita scoring but im more confident.
Honestly marsters has no clue in defence, and i dont want to be mean,he is not fit, he is 15kg overweight, he has the bigest bubble but in all of football.
Im not confident of a win, sorry boys, tigers copped the boos and gave it to us,titans lost by over 30 to nil, now they will come out firing
Also I'd rather Mago on the interchange instead of Knight. Mago has been pretty good when he's played this year. Knight is the same as always - drop the ball, give away penalties etc

Claiming a NRL player who weighs 99kg is 15kg overweight only goes to show that you have no idea.

From Zero Tackle,

The Rabbitoh Wayne Bennett SHOULD have named at fullback

Latrell Mitchell is facing up to four weeks on the sidelines following three separate charges from Saturday night’s clash against Wests Tigers, but there’s a left-field replacement option that could keep the Rabbitohs’ attack firing.

Wayne Bennett has named Alex Johnston at fullback on Tuesday for this weekend’s clash with the Gold Coast Titans, shifting Dane Gagai to the left and recalling Jaxson Paulo on the right flank and Steven Marsters at centre.

However, there’s another man already in the side that could strengthen their attack.

Latrell went down with a hamstring tear late last year, which saw Corey Allen get the nod from Wayne Bennett. While he isn’t an option having shifted to Canterbury, Mitchell’s injury saw an increase in Cody Walker’s input.

Walker played like a second fullback after Latrell went down, playing both sides of the field which lead to a dramatic increase in form, including a man of the match performance in the club’s 60-8 demolish of arch rivals, the Roosters, in the closing round of the regular season.

The potent five-eighth has 17 career starts at fullback, though hasn’t featured at the back since the 2017 season. His move to custodian would allow Benji Marshall to move into the starting side, and allow Johnston to remain on the wing.

After leaking 36 points against Manly, 80 minutes of Cody Walker, Benji Marshall, Adam Reynolds and Damien Cook could spell massive trouble for the Titans, who are 3-3 after the opening six rounds.

Despite the New South Wales five-eighth not named in the number one this afternoon, there’s still every chance the Indigenous All Star could move back there when Benji Marshall comes onto the pitch, and there’s little doubt Wayne Bennett will play head games with his side before Friday’s clash.

Fans are eager to see youngster Blake Taaffe, the man touted as Adam Reynolds’ replacement, debut at fullback after featuring there in the pre-season. While the 20-year-old is slated to return from an ankle injury sustained in the Charity Shield, the South Sydney junior is outside the club’s top 30, and would require an exemption to play in the coming weeks.

Having outside backs with NRL experience like Paulo, Moga, Taane Milne and Marsters in their squad, it’s unlikely said exemption would be granted.

Allowing Cody to float to both edges while Reynolds and Benji ran the attack would be lethal, especially the ability for him to pop up on the outside of either playmaker’s hip and inject himself when needed into the attack. We saw a glimpse of what he can create when he sniffs around the ruck during the Tigers match, when he burst through the centre of the field to set up Dane Gagai.

There’s simply no question the supercoach has a range of weapons in his arsenal even without the Dally M leader, Latrell Mitchell.

Training Gallery - Round 7: https://www.rabbitohs.com.au/news/2021/04/21/round-7-training-snaps/

Jeez that is an interesting, significant training gallery. Go check it out and pay close attention to the pictures with Benji in them as I believe it gives a big clue as to how we'll actually run out on Friday night.

In two pictures, you can see Benji is training outside Keaon and inside Marsters on that left edge. This is huge as it may indicate he is starting at 5/8 with Cody at Fullback. Also of note, is the fact that Benji is wearing a red training shirt. At training, the starting side wear red while the bench players and reserves all wear the dark green shirts so that is significant as it indicates he could be in the starting side.

Of course, there's the possibility that this was just for a few drills or something but I believe it indicates that we may not run out as we were named last night.

Just thinking about it, my theory about Benji starting judging by the training gallery may not be viable because marsters is there on the left too. If Marshall was staerting with Cody at the back, it'd be Gags next to him in the photos. So maybe one or both of Marshall and Marsters were just stepping in with a few drills. Will be interesting to see what happens on game day.

Not necessarily, it'll depend on who is in for Mansour. We saw Marsters get a run in the side last season with Gagai on the wing.

Next 4 weeks are going to be tough without Latrell. If we can win 3/4 id say thats a win. I definitely am not a fan of moving Walker to 1. He may be a safe option but he's no where near as dangerous and without latrell he will be our go to man for creating opportunities.

Agree though the prospect of Cody cherry picking his moments in attack while Benji runs the left side is intriguing to me. Having Benji in the squad makes Cody at the back a dangerous option imo.

c'mon man. Are you saying the club can't get it's players ready for footy?

Souths did fine last season without him. No doubt, the backline is more dangerous with Latrell in the team, but it's not all doom and gloom.

I agree, Walker is the Rabbitohs #6. Keep him there and Benji only starts at 6 or 7 if one of Walker and Reyno are actually missing. Making unnecessary changes to the spine will take the team further away from what has been working. If it ends up badly, then look to make a change for the next game.

Consistently winning teams will have fewer changes in their spine from game to game. I have no stats to back that up. Just a subjective comment ;)

Remember, Gags is named on the left wing. The red shirt has merit, mack. The wily old man might be up to his games.

While Cody may drop back back in defence, there's no reason why he can't play 6 in attack and Benji roam as a playmaking FB either.

This is going to blow you guys away, but I attended a indigenous smoking ceremony on the weekend and I’ve had a bloody good week.

Even the tigers had a go.

I was going to take a photo for @blue bags I didn’t the phone handy.

The guy gets the correct shrubs and stuff, big fire, puts it out and then you have to stand near it and it cleans the soul.
