Opinion Is Ricky Stuart the most overrated coach ever?

Papas missus posted something similar earlier in the week but quickly took it down. Stick needs to fix it asap. Having them both offside is a shambles and if it leads to us losing one or both of them it's disastrous.

Ricky is going to need to either dust off the old overhead projector...

...Or come clean with the squad about his bizaroo bench use, admit he was wrong and it's not working & go back to a simple, straightforward bench use where he starts his best 3 middles, picks his next 3 best on the bench & plays the best for about 50-55 mins & the benchies for about 25-30 mins. Worry about rotation 6 weeks down the track IF no one has been injured, suspended & you've won 5/6.

I think we all know which one is more likely to happen.

Kirsten Tapine has 100 correct regarding the interchanges and Ricky has struggled with this for some time, he is a hopeless coach who luckily had a very gifted roster the past few year and credit to him he did bring alot of them to the club but the premiership window is closing and Ricky will again be clueless.

Lets just look at the game in question; 16-14 HT, Raiders then gassed the last 30 minutes.

Wayne Bennetts bench - avg time 34.5 minutes and his two starting props played about 45 minutes. 3 players on Waynes bench all played around 40 minutes.

Ricky Stuarts bench - avg time 27 minutes with Soliola only playing 9 minutes... and Ryan James starting prop only 23 minutes.. injured? not sure.

Then lets go back 1 week Raiders hold a solid 24-12 lead going into halftime, get beat 26-24... look at the interchange 3 of the bench played 8 minutes, 19 minutes and 31 minutes respectively, no wonder there gassing every game.

Every coach in the game, every player in the game keep saying the game is getting faster and you have Ricky giving his bench players 20 minutes game time or letting 1 sometimes 2 just sit there and not play.. blokes a idiot.

Ricky Stuart's interchange bench rotation hasn't changed since he was at the Roosters in 2002-2006. He always interchanges his first front row forward at the 20 minute mark, the next at around the 25 minute mark.

Fact is you can write down what time he send on his subs in one game and you will pretty often find that they apply at just about every subsequent game. He is not good at adapting on the fly in my opinion.

IMO, there is a mutiny brewing behind closed doors given Papalii doesn't really care about football atm and Tapine's Mrs is on social media giving the coach a serve. Would love to have access to their Whatsapp chat.

Fact is the game has sped up and Stuart hasn't. We look fat, unfit and bereft of options. Hodgson and Croker are cooked. They are not injured imo but a liability to the team. Simonsson is useless. For an NRL winger, he has no idea how to defend off his line. Souths targeted him for three tries until Stuart swapped him with Rapana.

We haven't evolved and Stuart is still blaming the referees. Bateman's loss has been difficult to overcome and we are a shadow of the side that made the 2019 GF, although most geniused raiders fans on social media believe otherwise. We as a club, would have to have some of the stupidest fans in the NRL. For most, it's about Stuart being a good bloke and the culture of the club. Winning is way down their list and should you challenge Stuart or the players for the current run of cow shit they have served up, you are worse than Ted Bundy.

We would be the slowest team in the NRL. Xavier Savage should be brought in after round 10 as a matter of urgency.

Steaming in off the longest of runs from the Campese end... @legend

Stick has already done this when he made us way too big in 2017. I have no doubts he can probably fix it but i also don't really believe he is good enough to get us to a consistently good side. So for us to win a comp it would take everything going our way.

He has done a very good job with the Raiders but maybe his tenure is getting a little long in the tooth

The best player at the Raiders ATM is probably Starling and he is one of the ones that usually gets wasted on the bench. Definitely looks like internal issues but winning usually solves most problems.

Exclusive: Danny Wiedler spoke to Ricky and he was pretty angry.

Maybe about the Raiders. Maybe why or how Danny is still in the rugby league media.

He won a premiership in 2002. He has been a first grade coach every year since except 2011-2012. Has there even been a coach in the history of the comp to still have a job after SEVENTEEN seasons without a premiership?

Maybe it’s time to get rid of the clap..
About 5 years ago we played cronulla at home. A group of fat middle aged Cronulla fans were there too, absolutely butchering English soccer chants they had ripped off. There was also a bugler who sounded like a armadillo being raped by a coyote in his efforts to rip off barmy army tunes. (We got flogged).

They were almost as bad as hearing the jaws theme every time Gal butchered a 5th tackle play or those weird, twinkle fingers that some dork stole from glee or some other tweenager bullshit.

Anyway, Ricky sucks.

The Raiders need to get Tom Shines back from Salford or wherever he is.

Daniel Fitzhenry is coaching not too far away in Wagga and I'm sure a coach and coaching director dream team may cure their ills
