Instead of the Broncos, could DCE be off to South Sydney?

Daly Cherry-Evans has publicly stated that he wants to finish his career in Manly. But he has admitted that he is worried that Manly may give him a tap on the shoulder. I love how the media and to some extent the fans blow up when he walks out of a contract from the Titans (within the rules). But if Manly walks away from his contract it will be considered business as usual.

Surely the Storm can’t match $$$ that the Bronc’s would be offering him?? But i guess there’s always the boat, the ‘2nd’ contract and the brown paper bag. The rich teams just getting richer

If Chez decides to dig his heels in there's not much Manly can do, and quite frankly he is well within his rights too. Nobody made Manly offer him that contract.

There’s also the “come and play for an actual good team and win heaps” conversation that may have convinced him.

Dave Donaghy must have known yesterday when he made those comments that this was about to happen!

No wonder Dave flipped his top.....

on his second day in his new job, his new team's best player signs with the old club that he just left. LOL

BREAKING: Biggest Broncos blow yet with Origin star jumping ship to Storm

Brisbane has been dealt its biggest player retention blow this year by losing young gun winger Xavier Coates to Melbourne.
A number of media outlets, including News Corp papers, are reporting the 20-year-old has signed on with the Storm from next season.

News Corp says it’s a two-year deal.

Coates is one of Brisbane’s best young players, and made his State of Origin debut last year for Queensland.

It comes just two days after new Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy lashed out at “vultures” stealing the best young players from Red Hill.

Last year they lost David Fifita to the Titans, while only last week Tom Dearden signed with the Cowboys.

Coates toured the Melbourne facilities last week and it seems he has made up his mind to move south next season.

It’s an incredible pick-up for the Storm, who lose Origin winger Josh Addo-Carr to Canterbury at the end of this campaign.

The Victorian has also lost premiership winger Suliasi Vunivalu this year so Coates will restock that star power on the flanks.

Dunno if it was a misquote but Badel claimed Coates for 2 yrs at Melbourne at $850,000/yr. Surely not, maybe 850 for two years.

Not the dumbest move.

He could spend the next couple of years trying to help the broncos pull themselves out of the shit. Or spend it developing his game in a good system and try to reach his potential, forsake a few bucks to do it, with the potential to cash in on his development later.
He can also win games while sitting out wide have olam not pass it to him
