Do you think this could be a timing issue. Just say JDB is found not guilty, coming on the back of Hayne being found guilty it may leave a bad taste for some. I know both are different scenarios but similar charges. It will probably be even worse if JDB is found guilty as 2 convicted criminals in 2 days from the NRL. It will be a shocking look for the code. Maybe a few days break will somehow help get passed the Hayne verdict. Talk about bad timing.
Or maybe mothers day has something to do with it ?????

3yrs8m non parole - likely to get parole if he’s a good inmate.
5yrs9m if he’s a bad inmate (unlikely).
He will have to do a sex offenders rehabilitation program to warrant his early release, otherwise he won't be guaranteed parole.

You are correct Slippery in fact Parole he would be highly unlikely to get parole without doing the sex offender program (SOP).

The SOP also involves taking some responsibility for the offence, showing remorse and victim empathy so let’s see how that goes - not a great start. Judges comments about ‘deniers’ and the outrageous acts outside by his supporters won’t be lost when decision makers consider his parole. Many sex offenders do the SOP without showing much of anything and simply tick a box for parole but he is high profile and will attract far greater scrutiny by all including Corrective Services staff delivering the program, State Parole Board and the media.

If he thinks all he has to do is chill and ‘do the time’ he’s in for a surprise. Programs and/or work is compulsory for sentenced inmates.

He hasn’t shown any remorse at all suggesting he believes he is either completely innocent or is seriously delusional.

He’s filed his notice of intention to appeal and will see how that goes. If he loses that, maybe he can appeal again.

I think the nrl are waiting for these outcomes until they determine whether or not to strip him of his awards.

If his appeal/s fail, he will erased from the games memory so far as possible.

I think the police should arrest all his idiot friends or supporters who intimidated and tried to assault that girl and others at the court. Regardless of the appeal.

The jdb jury are struggling to convict. Tough job, I wouldn’t want it, I got a view, but best not share it.

Where does that leave us? You guys beat us with relative ease last week. Douehi looked like Laurie Daley vs Hook's Heroes.
Funny how the Fox and 9 commentators and some in here think that some of the Tigpies players played so brilliantly and used comments similar to yours comparing Douhi and others to great players of the past.

None of their players played like former greats they in fact just limped less than us in a what was a very poor quality game.

The simple truth is that we played shit and they were just a bit less shit.

Entertaining the notion that the Tigpies played well is just hiding from reality and such thinking will not serve us well in the long run.

Both times played shit, but we have a way of playing teams into form. Doueihi did look pretty good though due to our inadequacy at the back and poor defence.

Tigers were and are absolute garbage.
Dragons were just worse last week.
That is why it was so disappointing, we beat ourselves.

Most sex offenders will do these programs not to rehabilitate, but to do all that is required so they get parole even if they believe they are innocent, in the higher sentences it can be the difference of 3+ yrs served. I remember releasing a inmate after he was granted immediate release due the accuser changing her story of the actual facts & his words of having to sit with these sex offenders ( mostly pedophiles) in programs just so he got yrs off his sentence, even though he new he was innocent.
