Herald confirmed Mann on Monday but for some reason still nothing official. I guess because he was in QLD camp.

Saifiti's retention until the end of 2026 alongside twin brother Jacob, who has re-signed for another two years, was doubled down on Friday by confirmation Kurt Mann (two-year deal) and Hymel Hunt have also recommitted in the Hunter.

While the quartet's retention provides significant clarity around Newcastle's roster for the next few years, NRL.com understands the Knights have baulked at Gagai's asking price during recent negotiations with the off-contract Queenslander.

Talks around a return to Newcastle for Gagai have stalled of late as the 30-year-old Rabbitohs star weighs up his future, with the retentions of Mann and Hunt as centre options pointing to Newcastle moving on.

Sounds all very positive for us. Andre is the final word when it comes to KP. It is also why I believe Watson will sign a multi year deal. The Gagai interest sounds all but dead and it may be the club has realised what is right in front of them is more important. Put the money towards Conor and wait till a quality back on then up becomes available. Maybe they have finally realised what we can all see clear as day. The ‘experience’ player is really not needed.

2-year deal for Hymel

Toohey's News.

- Shibasaki has fallen so far out of favour they didn't even bring him to QLD with the rest of the squad. Still has an option in his favour for next season.
- Finucane will make a decision in the next week. Knights offer is among the least lucrative on the table for him.
- Still one roster spot to fill which could be used on an outside back but the club isn't rushing and have been told by the NRL they can count Blake Green as player #30 if nothing eventuates.
- Saulo will be back on the field in around a month and was picked to go to QLD over a fully fit Mat Croker.
- AOB says Connor has told him he'll give the club a chance to make a final offer if he finds a deal he likes elsewhere

Suali over Crocker is super interesting.. I guess AOB isn’t planning on needing so many forwards but as if you pick a guy who broke his leg just a couple of months ago over a fit young bloke.

It’s crazy how quick Saulo came back. His last game of First Grade was easily his best, hope he can build on that.
