Just watched Annesley spin on the match in his weekly bull s--t session.
According to him Moses should of received a penalty that was missed so no need to go further with the play when Penisini was possibly taken out and the possible Naden knock on. He said Penisini more than likely knocked on.
Ray Stone knocked on when attempting to pass the ball. His reasoning was his right hand was on the ball.
Gutho was not stripped and possibly he could of been judged to of knocked it on.
No mention of Papalii receiving a high tackle near the post. Probably no way to cover it up so does not bring it up.

The sooner he goes to the Brisbane Olympic committee the better.

Touchie's fault apparently they missed the luai tackle on moses.

They may as well drag 2 people from the ground to run the flag like junior footy. The touchie's are getting a free ticket to a game to spectate on the sideline basically these days since when do they ever make a call other then to put the flag up. They miss 15-20 forward passes every week

Moses was deliberately obstructed in a try scoring situation. Luai should've been binned. That's different to an accidental crusher or getting in front of a decoy runner in case he's not a decoy.

And I don't see the problem with Blake's substitution. He landed on his head a long way from our own tryline and we got no advantage from replacing him with Will Smith in our defensive line. In fact it was Smith defending at centre who conceded the game winning penalty. On the other hand your team was defending its own tryline and got to stop a quick play-the-ball to substitute a fatigued midget with a sore ankle for a fresh marquee forward whose only weakness is inability to play long minutes. It's a false equivalence.
Moses didn't get in front him, he reached for him to milk the obstruction after he was through the line. It got the try overturned, so fair play according to the rules. I don't see at as any different to the Kenny situation except it stopped an actual try as opposed to a possible try if everything went correctly for the attacking team and the defence didn't slide. And lol at "sore ankle" last I heard it's likely a ruptured Achilles. As for who replaces who after an injury, that's hardly relevant. That's on the coach, neither injury was from foul play, just bad luck. A stoppage to slow the other sides momentum shouldn't be judged on the quality of the replacement.

And yes, you were hard done by with the non call on Moses being taken out. Penalty for sure, sin bin who knows. In my opinion he deserved a stint in the bin, but so did the high shot on Sorenson.

Legit question. How do you guys feel about the stoppage when Waqa was injured and already off the field?

I think the NRL need to have a serious look at the gamesmanship and cynical bullshit instead of coming up with stupid ideas like 7 tackle sets from a kick into touch.

As a Panthers fan I find it a bit annoying the amount of attention this one incident with Kenny is getting. EVERY team does the same shit week after week. You guys were the "cramp" specialists for a while there and arguably the innovators of the neck clutch followed by the miraculous resurrection.

The NRL needs to decide if the gamesmanship is in or out. It shouldn't make a difference when it occurs in the game or if it's a final or not.

In saying all of that I get why you lot are angry. I would have been ropable if you had won off the back of Fergo's theatrics. The anger is misdirected though, it's up to the NRL to stop teams exploiting shit rules. You know something is seriously wrong when Parra fans are bandwagoning for the Storm.

It's a shame someone had to lose that game. Both teams were immense. It should go down as one of the games of the last few years for intensity and commitment from every player on the field.
Hi Socky,

I join the eels fans in condemning the manner in which the game was refereed.

The infractions by the officials were multiple and occurred too frequently.

For example that so called “high tackle” when it was just an elite tackle around the chest with not a skerrick of harm intended or occasioned.

I am unable to accept the result was fair and as a result, not able to attribute the win to the Panthers on merit.

I don’t care what the score was.

You will not accept this, that’s understood but there’s no peace or solace.

I do not have a practical solution other than perhaps the match should be played again due to official incompetence. That wont

The whole Melbourne thing essentially bores me to tears and they aren’t worth talking about.
Only the eels are up to beating them anyway and that scenario gone now.

I don’t mind the Panthers but the sooner Ivan retires from the game the better for all concerned.

I am sure the eels fans appreciated your last comments.

Annesley should be sacked.

There’s no closure here, most of us are empty.

Look after yourself Socky.

Moses kicks the penalty and we have extra time with lualai in the bin

Here’s another issue not addressed, Gutho makes a big break, tackled by Chinman, as Gutho went to play the ball, the Chin pulled his leg to slow the play down, professional foul and sin bin most games.

2 minutes to go, penalty agst the Riff, ball is kicked 50 metres downfield, no penalty and even worse no time off which should happen. Klein let the clock run down to under a minute , plays were rushed and Junior knocks on trying to squeeze plays in. Professional interference by the Riff, ignored by Klein, no wonder most fans are just , really !

Annesley is a spin doctor these days.

The officiating was shithouse, on that I think most people agree. It went both ways though. The only reason for the penalty count being lopsided was high shots, can't blame the refs for merkins going high. It's a shame that what should be being lauded as an epic contest is being overshadowed by incompetent refs and rule interpretations.

You guys should do the honourable thing and forfeit. After starting the game and breaking a few Storm players' legs.

Been thinking for a few days about this post and what I really want to say. I think it comes down to I get why Parra fans are upset; the officiating the other day was atrocious. And while I don’t think we were necessarily lucky to win, I can’t argue with any Parra fan that thinks they were unlucky to lose (probably even more so than any tight game).

It was a great game and hopefully will be remembered for that in the future.

I'm disappointed and not happy with the way we lost but I can live with it.
What I cannot live with is the spin Mr Annesley is putting on it. Supplies selected footage to back up his claims and completely ignores other issues.

I watched replay and made notes.

Plays by reff that cost us =
Fergo was milked but we had ball already.

JFH they had all the momentum and we where holding on. Marata stood his ground and was not a shoulder charge. We needed the ball at this point. That was a huge shift.

One of Stones passes wasn't a knock on. A bad pass but went back.

Luai should of had 10 in bin for holding Moses back.

Guth had ball stripped and should of been 6 again late in game.

Our own plays that cost us =

N.Browns silly pass after we scored. We had no ball the first 10mins but gifted a try. We give the momentum back to them. In these games it can take 5-10mins to get the momentum back.

W.Smith gets a pass over Crithton and we score. He compounds it with a rake then challenging it which gives them a penalty. That challenge would of been useful.

Guth if doesn't pass forward to Waqa we score.
Guth throws a stinker to Haze who drops it.
Guth has Haze open but goes short. Haze would of been one on one with Edwards.

Stones knock on and also his shit pass to Jnr at end.

Unlucky -

Papali running into goal post or maybe scores
Pensini doesn't get a good bounce or scores
Guths pass to Papa is knocked down or scores.

Worse call.
4.42. 3rd tackle after repeat sets. Penrith are gassed and retreating. We are setting up for our strike play. Wide spread, Guth wrap around for a cut out pass to Haze. We get 3 awesome charges and fast play the balls. Defense looks shot and we have ball exactly where want. Trainer stops game. 1.12min rest.
That was the game unfortunately.
