I’ve leveled my share of criticism at the club for poor recruitment decisions, but JFC. What’s happening at the Cowboys?

Letting go of a young rep prop in Molo for less than they are reportedly paying for Luc?

Add the overs that they’ve paid for The Chad and Val Holmes and their cap is gonna be in serious trouble for a few years.

Maybe we should be seeing what Robson’s thoughts are on his future. Money is gonna be tight at the Cows for upgrades, and a long term 9 that can get dirty in the middle would be useful.
Robson was shopped to the Eels by his manager to replace Mahoney.

Thankyou @dungay dragon . Re Kiko Manu..looks like a specialist left side player...it's good to have depth and people competing for spots. Would have been a cheapy.
Kiko's story reminds me a bit of Jordan Pereira's- both came from NZ originally to Queensland looking for a new opportunity and drifted south. Pereira I think had a Rugby background- both built close to the ground in the strong Islander mould and Kiko's metre gain stats sound similar to Pereira's. Don't know what kind of signing it is but I don't mind it.

A cheap gamble with little downside.

Mum sues Origin star over son’s death

The mother of rugby league player James Ackerman is seeking $373,000 in damages for PTSD after her son died to a brutal shoulder charge carried out by State of Origin hardman Francis Molo.
Molo was suspended for 9 weeks for the hit on Ackerman in 2015. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...r-fatally-injured-father-two-cries-court.html

There was a second shoulder charge that an opposition player allegedly said that hit Ackerman when he was down. https://thewest.com.au/news/crime/ackerman-shoulder-charged-by-molo-inquest-ng-s-1744075

I guess with this latest news that Ackerman's mum is seeking damages, it will play on Molo's mind.

Hopefully Molo has learnt his lesson and doesn't use his shoulders in tackles for us.

I recall the first time I saw a shoulder charge it was at Cumberland oval back in the late 70’s or early 80’s . One of our Dragons had broken clear and was making his way for the try-line when the Eel’s winger John Quayle whacked him with his big bluudy shoulder and dropped the poor sod as if felled by an axe .

It was to me a cheap shot to the extreme , however even then I thought that this is the type of thing ( I won’t call it a tackle as it is not ) that should be outlawed from the game for good before someone gets seriously hurt by it .

Not for a moment am I suggesting that Molo done no wrong with the Queensland player , but this should had been cleaned up donkeys years ago . Sincerely hope that his has changed his ways for the better . I also hope that his mother and family are able to recover from their huge loss .

Unfortunately she hasn't & not ever hearing from Molo has not done anything to ease her pain.

It’s a very sad situation slippery and I can only repeat what I said in my earlier post that the woman’s and her family’s suffering may ease somewhat .
