Round 8 vs Tigers

Molo needs to play more minutes averaging about 40minutes per game, Burgess only had one stint, some of our forwards looked out on their feet, also we give way too much yardage and PCM when we hit we don't stick, we made Tamou look like a first grader and a couple of their other players as well and way too many offloads causing 2nd phase play and us scrabbling, we cant play like that against Melb...

Oh lastly Mybe is playing well. caughtmany high balls missed one and let one bounce. Returned well and stopped a sure try by Hastings as well as two runaways.
Yep very well said mate. When was the last time we had a full back brave enough to tackle a front rower who has run 40 meters down field already and had the skill to tackle them clean?

People blowing up because he missed the tackle on Brookes that Lomax should've made and let the last kick bounce but without Moses we're behind on the scoreboard then anyway.

What a joke was the early penalty against Molo for a terrific front on tackle. That was a ref looking for something, even a genuine top tackle.

8 - 1 penalty count.

6 again 3-1 I understand.

Starigh forward escort by Brooks on Lomax. Bunker said no. Last bomb was clearly touched by Tigers winger. The Bunker bloke said ‘no touch’ like he really believes it. Yeah yeah. Everyone knew it was touched by Tigs player. No way McGuire hip dropped Suli. In fact as he lost his footing he was trying to miss Leilua’s leg which had been placed sideways by Leila. That really heralded what was to happen from there?

Did the Dragons get payback today after Hook’s criticism last week.

Too many piggy backs for tigers to win.
But we got the money.

Yes he really puts in doesnt he..as I said on here last week both our centres need earlier ball....one criticism I have of Suli 99% of the time when he receives the pill he cuts back inside to where the defense are waiting...would just like to see him run a bit more towards the sideline...having said that hes been a revelation in our backline
It seems coached. It's almost like Hook has taken Mary's game plan and decided he can improve on it. However, we all know that even a better version of it won't prevent them from running out of gas last in the year.

Frustrating watching but great to see us grind out another hard fought win and now three on the trot.

Hook and the fellow coaching staff have done a great job turning the defence around as over the past 3 weeks we've gone from the worst defence in the comp to one of the best in terms of points conceded.

That McGuire 'hip drop' was complete bs and Leilua is a grub for laying down and then playing on for another 20 mins.

On the subject of Leilua, how many times does he get to hit the ball up without being called held and how many times does he have to knock it on before the refs call knock on? FMD

We're now equal sixth on points and 2 points out of the top 4 when many including our own forum members were thinking we'd get the spoon!

Big Game against Melbourne next week but for now the Saints juggernaut rolls on and we're three from three 😍

OH WHEN THE SAINTS
Leilua moved of fthe mark and still was allowed to run by Gerrard Shittin.
Sorry for my bad spelling of Sutton.

Moses Suli...

18 carries for 190 meters and 85 post contact meters...

Just imagine the damage he could do if we could give him a little more time and space...
In attack he is a one directional ineffective attacking centre - always steps off his left foot away from his winger???
His defence has improved.

Now I am not sure if I am confident to put Sloan in at 1 against Storm of all matches but there should be another swap now that we can stick with

1.Mbye
6. Sullivan - no nerves with this guy, will bring dimension in halves
7. Hunt
9. McCullough - needs to be phased out soon though but will need his tackles against the Storm
11. Bird

14. Amone

Not too radical but I think Sullivan came in and has done more than Junior in that one game.
Just watched the presser and Hook gave the Hunt, Amone, Mbye and Sullivan a wrap as the spine so I hope that's a clue for next week and this is the team we get.

Can they practice the passing to Hunt for his kicks, very noticeable how often he had to reach or stretch to catch the ball before his kicks. Ends up kicking under pressure a lot. Mbye has been an excellent fullback for us, hope he can maintain the form.
Would be good to see someone else take pressure off Hunt, on last tackle kicks. He can’t do it all alone, then gets rushed, gassed and makes errors.

He was around the hip.
But he didnt swing him around.
David because of his record he might get time off.
Then two came over the top.
Reviewed by bunker.
Because Luciano stayed down there was a penalty .
He played on but last week Hargraves got off scot free and we lost Sua for 2 months.
Lets cross our fingers for Moose. As we know, since he came back from suspension we have won all games he has played.

My take on todays game.
Yes we were soft in contact in defense, sluggish in attack but will give BOD after Anzac game as Roosters proved the emotion and effort in that game does take it out of you.
But where I wont give BOD is every 50/50 call, challenge went the Tigers way. We hardly could buy a penalty / six again or anything include Hastings blatant forward pass in first half
How the bunker could overrule the ref twice when the ref got it right (especially the escort which is subject to opinion), based on evidence available when all weekend they have been inconclusive and have not overruled has astounded me. Who was in the bunker?..must be Patten who is not a bunker ref anymore.
But wait..Patten MRC chief. McGuire...look out!
And Zac Lomax penalty for tackle in the air was a payback for Woods late hit on Hastings which would be in todays sanitised rules.
