Meh, let the two-bit regional organisation swing their tiny dick around. Shield is dead anyway and I don't think CA will be sparing the AFL a single thought when they cram out their HaLlOwEd TuRf on Boxing Day again.

so...
SA will host the final

Last round of Shield matches underway,

For a sneak preview what Karen Rolton Oval will be like
SA 5/511 batting deep into day 2
Marnus the best of the bowlers 2/48
QLD dont look like winning, so if the blues beat Tasmania they will be in the final with SA

Of course if WA beat Victoria, and Blues lose or win and lose points . then WA will be in the final

TAS 7/309 vs NSW

Way overreaction to the shield final venue on here. This is not uncommon and hasn't been played at the Gabba, MCG, SCG or Adelaide Oval for a decade now.

SA seem nailed on to take it out, they’ve dominated this season. Home ground advantage will help, throw up a highway and make it impossible to take 20 wickets.

I am sure this get pitched a lot but in my opinion if the final ends in a draw then the second placed team should host a rematch, and if that is a draw the minor premiers take home the title. Would create a more exciting final, and disincentivise teams playing for a draw.

I don't think the Shield comp needs a final TBH. In an era of a packed calendar that is one fixture that doesn't need to happen. This isn't white ball cricket where anyone can win on the day, playing each team twice home and away over 4 days is enough to find out who the worthy champs are.

It's not as if the fixture is lucrative for CA either.

I think it still makes the last few shield games relevant.

And its another FC game on the calender.

If top seed had it won by round 7 the last 3 weeks will be slightly meaningless.

At least it leaves teams fighting to get into that 2nd spot of the final.

In a way exposing players to a final adds an extra layer of pressure to see how they handle it.
