Im almost sure I read somewhere that the Christchurch council was flat broke.2 to 3 million lost gate could be made up by what council pays
Lowe is keeping nz2 in the minds of the arlc too

Final should be mount smart with group games held at Eden park and Christchurch or wellington.Final in Australia, makes a lot of sense lol
I like the idea of using an Origin game or two as an incentive to get a Canberra Stadium built.Origin won’t be going to Christchurch with a 30k stadium no matter how fancy it is, it’ll be Eden Park if they do find a solution to make NZ work.
Should line up a Kangaroos Vs Kiwis test there next year though.

Not sure there needs to be 2 kiwi games in Auckland.
Two Auckland games, one Brisbane game and a Sydney game. They are catering to the large Polynesian populations in those cities, which is smart because they turn out in larger numbers than Kangaroos or Kiwis fans.Final in Australia, makes a lot of sense lol
What’s the Islander community out like in BrisbaneTwo Auckland games, one Brisbane game and a Sydney game. They are catering to the large Polynesian populations in those cities, which is smart because they turn out in larger numbers than Kangaroos or Kiwis fans.
I'd have thought filling commbank for Tonga v Samoa, NZ playing a game in Christchurch and Eden park for the final would make more sense? Two Auckland games, one Brisbane game and a Sydney game. I could definitely see the merit in an Eden Park final, I could be wrong but I don't think Christchurch has the same level of Polynesian support/population.I'd have thought filling commbank for Tonga v Samoa, NZ playing a game in Christchurch and Eden park for the final would make more sense?
Have Qlnd govt paid for the suncorp game?
Pretty big in Logan and Ipswich. What’s the Islander community out like in Brisbane
Reckon it will sell out
Someone reminded me Allianz wasn’t available so way better than commbank
Might get a lot coming up from Sydney tooPretty big in Logan and Ipswich.
32k from memory last year for Kangaroos v Tonga, I'd say anything between there and 40k. With a bit of hype it could push a bit higher.
I'll probably go as a neutral because I think it will be a cracker with a phenomenal atmosphere.
That's a good point. It's going to be a cracking eventMight get a lot coming up from Sydney too

As it stands you're looking at a sold out Mt Smart and 30/40k at Eden Park v 17k in Christchurch.
Brisbane proved itself last year with 30k plus, and it's catering to the large Tongan fan base here
Plus the ratepayers of Christchurch will be furious at their property-tax being used for a sports event & not fixing pot-holes or repairing water-mains pipes.Im almost sure I read somewhere that the Christchurch council was flat broke.
Warriors games both preseason trial and regular season games should be taken to the new stadium along with kiwi games to help grow the game of RL in the area and boost local tourism and trade.Plus the ratepayers of Christchurch will be furious at their property-tax being used for a sports event & not fixing pot-holes or repairing water-mains pipes.

kiwis just don’t sell well in New Zealand unlike the warriors unfortunately which I find totally bizarre.I heard on NZ radio they are expecting 30-35 k for the NZ v Tonga game …
anything over 35k would be a success in my book.Is this not a tad disappointing? Thought it would have been close to a sellout… does this ground have some type of stigma ?
The Tongan crowd in Auckland seems to top out (from history) around that 30k mark. The RL diehards in NZ seems to be Tongan and Samoan fans as the Kiwis don't seem to be a huge draw unfortunately. So considering the number of Tongans in Auckland it's a good showing from them.I heard on NZ radio they are expecting 30-35 k for the NZ v Tonga game …
