Looks like the umpires won't have to worry about the additional 30 minutes/8 overs.

So, this is the second test match over the past 3 years in Australia that has ended on day 2.

ROFLMAO @ INGURLAND

5-0 INCOMING MOFOS
As I said earlier, only bad weather can get in the way of a whitewash.

After a fair amount of time got taken out of the SCG test four summers ago due to showers, Australia fell one wicket short of a 5-0 cleansweep in 2021/22.

I remember reading comments during the test series vs Sri Lanka earlier this year, that Trav as test opener is only suited to the subcontinent and not Australian conditions.

Well, Trav did a much better job as opener than Khawaja would've. His counterattack attitude from the get-go was the difference, and got the Poms rattled (much like Konstas rattling India on Boxing Day last year).

So as it currently stands in the past 14 years the Kiwis and Windies have won more tests in Australia then the poms have.

And played half the amount of Tests then the Poms in the same period
I remember that last time the Poms won in Australia. IIRC, it was Khawaja's and Michael Beer's test debut, as well as Michael Clarke's first test as captain (filling in for an injured Ponting, before replacing Ponting as full-time captain after the 2011 ODI World Cup).

I distinctly remember meeting up with friends at Manly Beach for lunch on day 5 of the test, and then watching some of the day's play on the tv monitor inside the ferry heading back to Circular Quay in the afternoon. Australia were on the verge of getting crushed by an innings for the 3rd time that series, and 99% of the SCG crowd was the Barmy Army!

Most importantly, I hope that Smudge can forgive the 23 year old me at the time for saying he wasn't a test cricketer after England won 3-1. Very happy to see him transform himself into a batsman a couple of years later rather than trying to be the next Shane Warne, and he has never looked back since scoring that maiden test century at The Oval.
