They should make a decision early on Usman. Just tell him now if he is done. Even if it interrupts his golf game.

Sad he won't get a fairytale send off at the SCG where it all started. But he can retire gracefully before the Gabba test. Same way as Healy.

T20 circuit could use him this summer.

great test match but f**k me, 2 days

I got tickets for day 3 at the Gabba, hopefully it gets to day 3
Similar thing happened to me when I bought day 4 tickets to the 5th Ashes test at the SCG in 2014.

England decided to bat terribly on day 3 and the test was over.

Thankfully got a refund though.

If he is fit he is still one of the best 6 batsmen in the country. Maybe he needs a game off but its not like this is the batting stocks we had in 1999/2000.

Fingers strapped and back spasms. He is held together by tape at the moment. He has never been a great fielder either so these injuries aren't making him any better.

Head has been successful as an opener. And Webster has been very solid in all aspects of his game. The move makes a lot of sense at this point.

Certainly Webster comes in for the second test. But he is far from a superstar. Uzzy may be done but its not going to be because there are good alternatives and if he decides he wants to keep going I think he could.

Not a superstar but a proven performer. With the bat, ball and also good in the field. Fit and ready to go.

Khawaja is a proven performer too. But he is quite old and now hampered by injury. Plenty of us wanted a send off at the SCG (Lyon is probably thinking the same). Doesn't mean that it will happen that way though.

He will kill it playing t20 this summer if he wants to.

I am starting to like this trend of sportsmen playing into their 40s (which humiliates the up-and-coming generation) so a small part of me is rooting for Khawaja even though I don't much like him for his views on Israel etc.

Couldn't care less about his politics. He just needs to be fit and playing good cricket. The fitness part is even more important considering his age. Even if he passes his fitness test before the Gabba you'd still be wondering if he can survive the rest of the summer.

Best if they tell him now and get it over with. He is probably on the 8th hole at the Royal Perth Golf Club. Just show some decency and let him putt first.
