NRL need's a strong Melbourne Stormi can't believe the silence over a club ceo blatantly asking the ruling body to pressure another club into a deal for their benefit
imagine if it was us asking for a blowtorch to be applied to the storm the media would have torn strips off us

This snippet below i have bolded in black is hilarious

One of the key witnesses in the lawsuit is Storm chairman Matt Tripp who had planned to watch the NRL opening game at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday.
His request to give evidence by audiovisual link from the USA during the trial, which starts on Monday, was rejected during a short court hearing on Tuesday.
He will have to give up a seat in the Las Vegas stadium's luxury chairmans' lounge for the triple-bill extravaganza and instead appear at the NSW Supreme Court to give evidence for hours on Tuesday.
Justice Francois Kunc noted Tripp could then be on a plane to the US and continue his plans to spruik his betting business betr on a country tour that includes Phoenix and New York.
Representing Parramatta, barrister Arthur Moses SC said on Tuesday that Tripp's credit would be under attack during the trial.
I think it is still going ahead as scheduled, however Tripps testimony is delayed until he gets back. So there will be a split into 2 parts. Our CEO is still scheduled to give testimony on the 2nd and is confident he will be in Melbourne for the game.I believe it’s now delayed until 14th March as that is when he’s back
Stalling Lomax's returnWhat are we actually hoping to get from this court case ?
As far as I can tell, we are not getting compensation or a player of equal standing.
Otherwise you can see players and their managers saying that they have fallen out of live with the game, get a release and a week later they are back in love with league because they miss it soo much and want to sign with a top 8 side.Stalling Lomax's return
But also making a stand as a football club.
Were not going to get rolled over here and why should we.
Its a big f... you to Storm who thought they could just grab him without any consequences.
There was an agreement in place Zac would be released on the proviso he won't play for another NRL club for 3 years because his going to play Rugby - Zac broke it within 5 mins.
If the courts rule in our favour then i assume Zac remains in limbo which is a punishment anyway most would be happy for Lomax to cop.

The basic issue is strengthening the issue of contracts , imagine if for some reason the court rules in favour of Lomax and others being able to change clubs due to things like I don’t like the meals there or something as stupid as that. Putting the ability to reneg on contracts in the hands of unscrupulous clubs and player managers would be disastrous, the club is protecting itself and the game overall. What are we actually hoping to get from this court case ?

Yet the NRL, PVL and Abdo seem blind to the long term consequences backing Melbourne in this. The basic issue is strengthening the issue of contracts , imagine if for some reason the court rules in favour of Lomax and others being able to change clubs due to things like I don’t like the meals there or something as stupid as that. Ill throw a conspiracy theory out there.
