Good to hear. Could you point to specifics of what he has done that makes you think this?

I heard back when he was playing Reggies with us that he was a real footy head and student of the game. The club backed him to Captain/Coach for that one season so they obviously had faith in him and then after his retirement got him straight into our pathways as a coach.

He speaks very well in all video I have seen of him and I know the players really rate him.

Thankyou.
Speaking well is almost the top of my list of demands of an NRL coach. Speak well, speak with some passion for the game, give the fans some insight when you do a press conference, be a roll model for the players to speak better exedra exedra.
I'll do a ranking of the top 5 speakers in the coaching ranks one of these days.

Gehamat Shibasaki is pretty good example made his debut in 2018 at the broncos then moved around Kinghts Cows Bunnies then finally back to the Brincos wins a comp plays for QLD and now AUS. He had potential when making his debut just took him a long time to actually figure it out...

My take watching juniors is that almost 90% have the ability in that age group its if they want to put in the hard work for the next 5 years every day to make it into the NRL. There is also other factors as well lifestyle/health etc which are other reasons why they just get spat out so soon.
I think the level of coaching is paramount. Our Eels have recognised this with full time coaches and a greater spend in that area than any other club. Of cause it starts with the head coach and we appear very well served in that area nowadays.

Backups you hope that went on to pushing to being first graders.
I was hopeful of Wiremu being a regular first grader.
At the time we signed him I was excited about the prospect of having a big bopper with a bit of aggression in him and he looked like he fit that bill. Too bad he couldnt get and stay fit enough to force his way into consistent FG as a top 17 bench player we could rely on for 40+ mins per game.

Now if you want to take your kids to a broncos game it costs you $716 to see a game of football.

Meanwhile it cost Ezra Mam just $850 in the queensland courts to drive unlicensed under the influence of drugs.

Can someone please explain how one is only $134 more then the other.
Yeah just bought tickets to round 2 at Suncorp and 2 adults and 1 kid up in the heaven was $280

Werimu would have been ok in the 80s. But in 2026, hes like a Ford Raptor with a Mazda 2 motorMazda2_(DY)_–_Frontansicht,_25._August_2013,_Düsseldorf.jpg

My memory (admittedly shoddy these days) is that he actually was playing his best footy when he got that lisfranc injury.
