If all current 'Flanno sacked' news is correct, there is no way Dean Young takes over right now. The season is a write-off and handing him the reins would be possible coaching suicide, especially since he is already a major contributor to our failure.

The likely move is giving the job to Willie Talau. Let Willie do the heavy lifting, steady the ship, and lay some foundation.

That's the 'good' news.

Sadly, regardless of how Willie goes, I just see this as a pathway for Dean Young in 2027 when the coaching pressure will be substantially less.

It will be a tactical play by certain factions of the board

As long as these factions keep padding their own nests. the club is going nowhere.

Until we get rid of this divisive board that has created the internal rot, it doesn't matter much who the coach is.

How friggin long before they work it out?

Well does Ennis even have the time, surely Young will be interim as we have not heard of anyone else in the frame.
Typical Dragons style pressor
Sack a Coach
Now we will talk to remaining coaching staff and get back to you later
It will either be Young or Talau interim..short term
Couldve been done so much better
Interesting to see how Kyle is handled , and have they got the "grape fruits " to stand down Holmes ...........

Whoever is the interim, they need to drop Kyle either to the bench or NSW cup and time to introduce Reed to first grade, make a positive first statement.

Saw a bit of press conference.
Lancaster and Watford present.
Stated that it was a mutual decision to part ways with Flanno.
Ben Haran also gone which is probably the better news of the 2.
No coach in place yet will be talking to the coaching staff soon.
Last week or so has been difficult. Sounded like it was becoming very untenable and had to act quicker than they would have liked which again is good. Asked why it was before Anzac day and they more or less said same thing.
Showed some sympathy for the Flanno's but also expressed they also have the club and fans to think about and have to work to appease them. Mentioned the poor start 11 in a row.

I think Watsford and Lancaster have been good. They won't rush to get a coach, I feel they will make sure in the end they get the right guy in. I am hoping they fill in Haran's job asap (with Richo) and then get his view on who will be next coach. That can only be the reason why they will not rush to make this call. They may already have a guy lined up and hope to hear news on this asap.

Flanno really has himself to blame for all of this with his nepotism and very poor team selections. I can't see him getting another NRL gig soon. I actually hope he does get one asap so he can take his son with him as well as Val Holmes.

Are you two clowns still around?

Wow amazing how a decent coach can get a reaction out of his team. Eels were shit last week, got booed off by their own fans.

This week, they beat a top 4 team as a response and what a response!
All this with more than 10 regulars in the injury ward. Clearly Ryles can get an immediate response from his players, Flanagan cannot and we keep dishing out the same shit.

Pretty sure @InFlannoWeTrust was happy last year seeing us lose to anyone as long as it was a close score line, considering we had a few mediocre players injured, that was a good excuse for your mate Fraudagan less than 12 months ago wasn't it?

Anyway well done you two Clowns going the early crow just to try and settle a score 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

"Top 4 team"? Is that the team sitting in 10th who only won in Vegas because the ref carried them? You continuously prove you have no idea what you're talking about.

Oh and you really want to tempt fate with this garbage when they are about to face the in form Sea Eagles?

Anyway, you can stop pretending to be Dragons fan. Everyone knows you're an Eels fan.

Yes, I would be happy to see Talau as the interim coach, that would make logical sense. He is obviously killing it in his role in NSW Cup. Giving it to Young doesn't make much sense really, at all. They need change, like real change, not sure it will go that way though. Good to see you happy @ 'I'm Hornby'. Despite the fact that I detest ongoing negativity, obviously you were correct in your assessment of the situation with our team and the management of. Let's see what the next cab off the rank brings.

It now seems to me that our Board does not understand what is needed to run a successful club. Hiring Flanno, Young, and Ennis (all former hookers) was a poor decision but leaving recruitment management in the hands of Haran was probably the worst decision made in the club's history.

As it turns out we let the real marquee players sail past and instead hire old mates of Flanno who are past their used-by date:
Holmes - center
Gutherson - fullback
Cook - hooker

Alternatively
In the centers, Mitchell, Farmsworth, or one of 4 SOO centers could have been ours.
At fullback, Ponga, Tedesco, and Turbo all came onto the market during the subject period
Robson should have been our hooker target, and we should have always been trying to bring Bosstock back to the Dragons.

In the end, we have ended up in this mess, mainly because Flanno and Haran were not made to justify their recruitment decisions.

Of course, the performance of our current halves stands out when it comes to nepotism influencing our team selections and quality for players needed in the halves.
