First of all I was impressed with the press conference. Lancaster looked and sounded pissed off...rightly so.
So what now?
Does he grab hold of the reins and take an immediate control of the whole situation, in the mould of Frank Facer and steer this wreck away from total disaster or does he sink back to mediocrity.
Bring in Shane Richardson GM Football.
Get a coach from outside maybe get Hornby as assistant.
Pray or whatever needs to be done to win some bloody games.

Press conference was an embarrassment.
showed the leadership of the club was poor. Not ready. Not prepared. Didn’t present as though the club had control of the situation. Blaming journos was a joke. Should have shown some ownership for the crappy decisions made, especially the extension of Flanno last year when he had not earned it.

You spend to much time reading the press reports which are all negative towards the Dragons.
They acted immediately with the Coach and Football Manager as ongoing position is untenable , however as is usually the case under the circumstances not everything was 100% perfect.
They had no option but to act now and I have no issues with waiting in the hope of getting the next coaching and Football Manager call correct for the long term.
In saying that if we end up with Dean Young as Head Coach that is it for me .

Lancaster is a Wincorp plant on the board and just as much a part of the problem.
The whole board needs a broom through it, bring in Richo as GM of football etc
This club need proper change but they always do it half arsed and look after family connections and mates. Its a basket case

Given Bwaiff Analstar cracked a wobbly on TV last night, and given he's a player agent, I can but only wonder how dealing with any of his clients will go into the future.

They are the reason they didnt give Wayne Bennett 5 years when he asked for extension after winning the GF in 2010 . They considered him to old to keep coaching look 16 years later and still going strong. It's time to fix it with a new GM for starters and look into a winning coach and no 7 go big on Ivan & Nathan clearys nothing less .

serious question
how much money do you think it would take to get Ivan cleary?

the amount the dragons or any nrl club for that matter would need to pay him to leave panthers would put your salary cap out of whack in terms of a percentage. he isnt moving from penrith to play at another nrl club. it just isnt happening

but the coaches arent capped.
So say a club offered Ivan 5 million a year. do you reckon he would move?

I thought there was a football department expenditure cap, and if you did spend $5M on Ivan Cleary, you won't have much money left to spend on assistant coaches, trainers, conditioners and all the other staff you need to run a successful team. So I doubt very much Ivan Cleary would move to another NRL club for $5M, because without support staff he would be doomed to failure.

Lancaster pissed off rightly so!!- how do you come to that conclusion? Journos didn't make the brain-dead decision to extend Flanagan for absolutely no reason at all and keep useless officials such as Haran in place with all the roster problems and performance issues this has created.

Lancaster is a media guy- like the Gordons no background in or knowledge of RL. Mark Coyne or Ben Creagh should be the Chairman. Both have business quals and backgrounds and decorated RL careers with the Dragons. Neither would have made the absolute arse of themselves as Lancaster did in his petulant performance at the presser.

St George Illawarra should be sold to a professional sports company to avoid the constant disagreements at the Board level. In fact, I would rather the NRL buy out the SGI shares, appoint interim directors and then find a capable owner.
