Rest assured, I'm not trolling. I spoke to a good friend of one of the Bulldogs players today who said the Bulldogs were travelling well except for the aftermath of the Dragons game. I thought the Bulldogs came out looking pretty good after that game, after dominating with their big men. Gee you've got some tough blokes down your way in any case.
But what was interesting was that the player admited that the Dragons game had "really knocked the stuffing out of them", and that they were feeling sapped of energy. I suspect its a symptom of the long season which many players talk about, and not just rugby league players, but I also found it interesting in terms of how the Bulldogs are travelling.
They seem to be shaping up fairly well, really muscling up in the big games and imposing themselves on the opposition. But even the games that they look like they've dominated still, it seems, take their toll. I still think they're looking better than many other teams at this stage of the season. But you have to wonder how on earth the Dragons felt after that game if the Bulldogs are admiting how much the game took it out of them.
So all the best for the season, and in the finals. My team is struggling a bit for consistency and are very unpredictable. In fact, I owe a mate of mine a beer the next time the Knights play the Bulldogs... but I told him I'm not sure how likely it was that we would meet again this season. Wait and see.
