The Entrance beat Sydney Bulls 22-6. The scrum base trio of Wynn, Nicolas and Jolly from the win over Windsor were all missing this week. Jolly fell off a ladder during the week.

NRL clubs could do a lot worse than picking up Don Thompson for next year. He been consistently impressive this year.

Agree, funny thing is, is that Don Thompson I hear is reserve for the NSW rep side and they have Mowbray of wenty in place....? Beats me... and to top it off Mowbray is even captain of this rep side.

Ian McCann & Mark Horo dont know how to select a team, some strange selections.
Its time they choose someone else who knows what they're doing and are FLAT FAIR!

Interesting to see Tarek Houchar in the Demons team this week. He has played A grade for various clubs for at least 10 years, last year being captain of the Combined Parramatta team but I thought he had gone into coaching because this year he was non playing coach of the rep team.

Given that the Demons had their best result of the season last week and Belrose their worst, could the Demons do Wenty a favour and win again?

Jim Baira, who played for the Queensland Rangers in last years Quad series and with Souths Logan and Wynnum Manly prior to that, has left Windsor and returned to Townsville, where he is playing in the Foley Shield team.

Yeah hooch has been assistant coach at demons this year, but he has been getting itchy feet and wanting us to register him for a while now and after the demons had halfback issues (todd fisher pulled the pin and nadim couri broke his hand) he got his shot. We didn't want to depleat A grade ranks anymore as both grades are struggling with injuries(last couple of weeks A grade has been using 5 or so C graders).
Houch played his first game against chester hill, didn't do to bad for and old guy ;-)

And Windsor just beat Cabra over the weekend. Dont ask me the score I didnt watch the last 15x mins.

Cabra were leading most of the game. Alot of errors by Cabra to put Windsor in front.

Cabra was on a straight winning streak I think 9x - 10x straight wins then hulled by the Wolves.

This game will be televised on Fox today. Cabra still is the team to Beat.

Round 17

Sydney Bulls 26 (D Barakat 2, C Salem 2, C Smith tries N Wynn 3 goals) beat Belrose 22 (M Lammana, W Bishop, T Barrow, S Carew tries J CRoot 3 goals) at Crest Stadium tonight.

Lammana scored first after the Bulls spilt a bomb. The Bulls replied via a Wynn chip kick being gathered by Barakat who outpaced the defence and ran the ball around under the posts. There were only 3 penalties in the first 20 minutes and then the officials found cause to award Belrose 7 penalties in 10 minutes but the Bulls defence repulsed every advance made by the visitors and when they regained possession they demonstrated some razzle dazzle rarely seen in the 2007 team to run in 3 long range tries in 5 minutes to lead 22-4 at half time.

The visitors again scored first in the second half when, following a strip penalty, Willie Bishop took a quick tap and ran 60 metres after all of the Bulls turned their backs on the play as they retreated the 10. Salem responded with a powerhouse try but Bushby missed 2 kicks including a penalty from in front while Wynn spent 10 minutes in the bin (winterstein got the same treatment in the first half)

Weight of possession saw Belrose post 2 more tries to place the Bulls under pressure in the final 5 minutes but the home side held on.

Other games this weekend are:

Saturday
Wenty vs Shellharbour at Ringrose Park, 2.30 pm

Sunday
Erina vs Windsor at Erina 2.45pm
Cabra vs Chester Hill at Cabra 3pm
Mounties vs Seven Hills at Mounties 3 pm
The Entrance vs Asquith at EDSACC 3pm

Dam another close loss for the demons, lost to mounties 18-16. Demons led all the way bar the final 5 minutes. had a couple of opportunities as well to take the lead back.
Demons led 10-0 early with tries to learmont and ackroyd. Mounties hit back through Ly. Demons extended the lead again when swamy crossed. Charlie H scored at the end of the first half so demons went into the sheds with a 16-12 lead. score remained that for most of second half until Butler scored out wide and russel converted from the sideline to put mounties in front for the first time.
Both teams had scoring opportunites in the second half but for some great defence from both sides.

It was a great effort from the demons boys considering 6 A graders had to be called up(5 made their JBC debut today). Dam injuries are killing us, between demons JBC and A grade squad 26 players were unavailable today. A grade played today with 5 A graders the rest were made up of C grade players.

Other results were: Wenty 20 beat Shellharbour 6, The Entrance 70 beat Asquith 12, Erina 34 beat Windsor 10, Cabramatta 44 beat Chester Hill 12.

Major surprise with Erina beating Windsor. This game is on Fox on wednesday. This is Erina's first win from their 5 TV games to date. Wenty dropped the ball about 15 times in the first half against the Marlins meaning that the game was scoreless for 33 minutes. Wenty have now gone 7 games without defeat and have almost caught Belrose. Erina have 12 points rather than the 10 indicated in the papers and NSWRL website, which has failed to credit the win against Asquith in a Tuesday night game 2 weeks ago.

The table is:

26 The Entrance (16 games)
24 Cabramatta (16)
24 Windsor (17)
23 Bulls (16)
22 Belrose (17)
21 Wenty (17)

Mounties 18, Erina 12, Chester Hill 10, Sshellharbour 8, Asquith 6, Seven Hills 4

The deferred game between the Bulls and Cabramatta will be played on wednesday night at the Crest at 7.30.

Cabramatta gave Bulls a Thrashing lastnight 48 - 6.

First half, Cabra led 8 - 6. First 10x - 15x minutes of the game Cabra's centres went down David Moore and Francis Betham were carried out with serious injuries. Sadly for Betham who I have never seen go down seriously in the years he's played straight metrocup/jimbeam since 2001. No news yet on these 2x injuries. Francis went down on a dirty cheap high tackle from his opponent.

Sydney Bulls played a disgraceful game, their forwards really lost the Bulls their stance in the game lacking discipline, crazy high tackles and wanting to fight with the Cabra forwards more than playing the game. Then it was the battle of who could smash who best in the tackle. Even though the score line was high, there was certainly alot of entertainment and the Cabra boys just kept giving it back to them.

It was a good win for Cabra esp as they played on Sunday and Bulls refused to cancel the Weds night match.

Cabra faces Mounties on Sunday.
