Bulldogs are at 4134 as of this morning...
Yesterday on 2GB Alan Jones started talking and giving a plug to the Bulldogs for the membership packages and prices, then later in the day Roy & HG on Triple M were talking about the Bulldogs encouraging past players to sign up members, great free publicity, shows good deals don't go unrewarded! For a team who finished with the wooden spoon last year & lose in the fashion we did (By cricket scores in the last 6 or 7 games) it's a great effort to beat last years number over 1 month out from the season start.

Agree...they don't seem to care..its such an important concept.

The feature banner at the top of the page on NRL.com now says "lets get 100,000 members before kickoff" or something to that effect.

Ticketed Membership Breaks 7000
10 Feb 2009

Following a wonderful day at Redfern Oval last Sunday for the Return to Redfern Members Only trial match, the Rabbitohs Membership family is again celebrating with Ticketed Membership breaking the 7000 barrier this morning (Tuesday).

Ticketed Membership levels now stand at 7030, with the Club attracting 12,178 total Members to date.

The South Sydney Football Club would like to thank every Member that has shown their allegiance to this Club by becoming a Member for the 2009 season. We are now less than 1000 Members short of our 2009 goal which stands at 8000 Ticketed Members.

We urge every supporter of the Rabbitohs to support the team in the best possible way by becoming a Ticketed Member of the Club. We also ask every current Member to try and sign up your friends and family so we can reach and surpass our goal of 8000 Ticketed Members for 2009, showing everyone in the NRL that we are leading the way in Membership amongst Sydney Clubs.

Again we thank you for your support. Up the Rabbitohs!

Also another banner in the membership section talking about a club membership calculator. Would that be a calculator to work out how much a membership will cost or is it tied in with the 100,000 goal, like a big membership ticker that shows how close to 100,000 we are?

Well done Souths. What a brilliant effort from your supporters.

If Souths continue to lead the way, there's no reason why they cant have upwards of 20,000 members each season which will place them on a sound financial footing indeed.

Financial stability means they will be able to retain the good juniors they create as well as attract the best players to their club. Success breeds success, both on and off the field and if all the right things are in place, Souths fans can look forward to a period of great results and growing crowds.

If this happens, they may even look to return to the SFS as Homebush really is a hole of a stadium to watch football at, even with 25,000 supporters in the ground. A move back to the Footy Stadium and a successful team would no doubt see packed houses and people clamouring to get tickets to their games.

Imagine the atmosphere for the battles with Easts or St George or the Bulldogs with 35,000 people screaming their heads off. It makes you salivate doesn't it?

Great to hear the radio stations are plugging it too in Sydney...that's that way to go, the more air exposure the better..
Well done Bulldogs.

And from the Sea Eagles site have broken the 3,200 mark for members, meaning now the 4 clubs publicly listing their member numbers have all exceeded their 08 numbers.

Considering the economic climate, this is fantastic news, and the four clubs deserve to be congratulated for growing their business in such times.
