ODIs #3?

With Ponting out til the start of the WC who bats at 3 in the ODIs?

White who averaged 60 when replacing Ponting at 3 in England last tour?

Or leave White in the middle order to prepare for WC and have Hodge slot straight in as a like-for-like replacement?

Haddin
Watson
Clarke (c)
Hodge
White
Hussey
Christian
Hauritz
Lee
Mckay
Johnson/Bollinger/Tait

IMO

With the option of shuffling the middle order depending on the situation

This will be the true test of whether Hodge has been put into the never again basket.

Yeah, probably the final test as far as he is concerned.

If they aren't going to pick him with Ponting out for the whole series when he has scored hundreds galore at state OD level over the past 18 months then they never will.

Fergusson and Marsh should be front of the line as a wings player, ahead of Smith Khawaja and Paine (especially Paine, f**king rubbish one day player)

I'd play Khawaja just to get him more exsposure to international cricket.

It wont hurt him. Used to be the done thing to give batsman a run in 50 over cricket before they played test cricket. PLaying 50 over cricket at the start of their test careers never hurt Mark Waugh and Ricky Ponting
