It sounds like Tom Humble is having a blinder. Does anyone know if he or Reni can play for us next week even though they have been selected for NSW Residents?

Sounds like the Wenty lads are putting pressure on the Parra lads for spots. Great stuff.

and does ANYONE know where I can find infrormation on A-Grade/Sydney Shield [whatever it's called]

there's nothing in the program and nothing on the nswrl website
can never find a draw and only see them play at Wenty when I turn up early in the hope they're playing before Bundy
for lovers of everything Wenty it can be frustrating!

The Sydney Shield lasted only one year, there were only 4 teams - the A grades from Wenty, Cabra and Mounties and the bulldogs 4th grade.

Mulholland decided he wanted the Bulldogs in the Bundy Cup so he and his cronies convinced the long time sponsor of the Sydney Bulls to take the sponsorship away from the Bulls, bankrupting a club that had reached 8 grand finals in 10 years and putting the Bulldogs 4th grade in the Bundy.

Well it was a great success. The Bulldogs ran on the field for the 15th time today and had their first win. Mulholland signed Portlock from Manly during the week - maybe he had a big game.

If the Bulldogs stayed where the belonged in the Sydney Shield there might still be a 4 team comp instead the embarassing situation in the Bundy where there are only 5 teams of Bundy standard, 2 amateur teams plus the Bulldogs, which with a few exceptions, is no better than a weak Toyota Cup team.

Wenty A Grade (along with Cabra and Mounties) are back in the Parramatta Junior league, leading the comp and chasing 9 consecutive premierships.

Anyone got a report on any standouts, who was dissapointing etc??

I thought our best whilst he was on was Morts, directed the team around the park well, scored a great try and kicked another 40/20..

Chris Walker was safe at fullback and Danny Howard, Nathan Armit, Pele and Tommy Humble were all pretty solid.

Reni was quiet as mentioned earlier.

Filiga was quiet in the first half but had a good second half including a 30 metre burst with the Windsor centre on his back however a lot of the tries late in the game were on his side of the park and were scored by his opposing centre.

very solid performance all round for the first 70 minutes before they decided to drop of and go to the pub for a beer.

Walker looked quite dangerous trailing up the middle the last first grade game he played for us, would be worth a shot with Hayne out.

failed to mention that Pat O'Hanlon also came of the bench and made a great impact including setting up a try for Morts.
