I was puzzled by the lack of Uate today too. He would have just about gotten a cold out there.

And thats the crying shame, given a decent centre he's a 20+ tries a year winger, no doubt but theres little point if he's not the focal point of attacking efforts and he hasn't been this year which i think is affecting his form.

Wes and Sau aren't worth a damn in positioning him and giving him opportunities.

Touched the ball for the first time in the 20th minute.

Our first half today was very good defensively, but the second half just went to shit. We lost the game territorially big time, and the team just broke in the last 20min.

I'm sorry if you DONT understand what I wrote aqua - but I CANT put it in any SIMPLER terms - even for SIMPLETONS ! He was CRYING at his change booth at half time and Wayne went up and consoled him - how's that any simpler for you ?

Why would the bloke be crying, he might have been disappointed in his efforts or some such thing.

I'd be surprised if he was.

Jennings is real unhappy at Penrith and was hooked from the field last night. Get him inside Uate.

If you look at the metres made by our forwards they don't seem too much worse than what the opposition achieved. I think the biggest killer was the fact they managed to offload the ball 16 times to our 5. In the opening 30 minutes we defended well, but the Roosters also didn't chance their arm very much. As soon as they decided to throw the ball around our defence fell to pieces.

Emos are coming out of the woodwork again - so let's change this player and that one and all will be fixed. Same old story.

We lost because we lost the plot. We made errors we shouldn't have, turned over possession too easily and didn't stick to the game plan of coming up in defence that has served us well when we do it. We let them throw it around and lost all sense of purpose as a team.

This team IS capable of a great team performance despite having a few nuffies. Geez, take a look at the number of rep and former rep players we even have now without Gidley and Bedsy.

To our credit, we held them out in the first half.

He has his back turned to the team - facing the wall - Wayne walks up - has a quiet whisper in his ear - walks away and DB then takes his towel and wipes his eyes ! - certainly looks like he was - and reported as such - probably crying thinking - What the f**k have i done with my career - playing with these jokers - get me back to QLD"

Maybe somethings up but I can't see that the first half would have made him cry, they actually hung in there and its 8-6 so I just don't know what he's got to cry about.

That said, there is no doubt the pressure is building for everyone at the club, there were high expectations this year, new coach and a stronger roster.

Last year after 9 rounds we were on 10 points, this year we are on 8, not exactly where anyone expected us to be.

At least a Uate and Jennings porn would display better ball handling than our shitty forwards.

Agree JD. It would have to be the most ridiculous comment on this thread.

I have been patient with Roberts over the past 2 years but he just does not organise a team. Whether it is lack of confidence or what, with a small pack of forwards, we need an organising half to get the forwards running different lines.

There have been a couple of halves/5/8 in their first year this year who have taken the game by the scruff of the neck. The Souths half and the Dogs 5/8 come to mind.

Roberts if he wants the position needs to do the same quick smart otherwise we need to look elsewhere as he is yet to impress me

What? You can't have been 'patient' with a 21 year old that has played just a dozen games.....over 2 years....2 different coaches....changing playing rosters......and how many consecutive games has tyrone played?

I'm not saying that he is our future, but he has only been thrown into the nrl sporadically so its not really fair to judge his future with the club

The issue for all our playmakers is that they haven't played behind a consistently dominant pack so they haven't been able to put their best foot forward.

Until we fix that, we are going to chew up halves..............

Whilst they may not be able to shine behind a pack that gets dominated, halves can at least direct the team and get the ball in their hands. I would like to know how many touches Roberts got the ball today but it would not be many.

He seems to lack confidence which most halves don't even when they make their debut. Only need to look at Adam Reynolds who made his debut this year and Cherry Evans/Josh Reynolds last year.

Hahaha!

In relation to our game today, it annoys me that our forwards get dominated but don't look like they want to fire up and do something about it. JWH and Cordner especially just smashed us up all afternoon, I really would have loved to see a few of our boys fire up and try the same but it just didn't happen. The game between the Dogs and Manly last Friday was a great example of it, each team's forward pack would lift and in turn the other pack would rise to the challenge, like they both wanted to make a statement.

Let's have a look at our pack, Housten tackles his heart out but I've never seen him put a decent hit on, Hilder is the same. Nev used to do it but it seems like his agressive side has been coached out of him. Zeb goes missing when other teams turn it up a notch, McKinnon is young and seems to be trying to play the percentages, Cuthbo is useless. Eddie and Faas are both capable of some massive and dominating tackles but neither of them have displayed much of it this year, Snowy is a big unit but needs to show some agro. And Willie, well maybe this is what Wayne wants him to bring to the team?

Agree that our defence, whilst it has improved significantly this year, is just not aggressive. We will continue to be dominated, have poor field position and eventually the cracks occur late in the game as it happened today unless we start to be more aggressive and have more mongrel in our defence.

We lost that game because our defence was not sticking. The speed was there but 1st contact just slipped off and allowed the Roosters to shift the point of attack and go again.

Wes was awful on the right and looked like he was afraid to put his shoulder into anything

Bitterly disappointed
