Don't need to worry about Zappia, directors on interview panel don't want him because he worked under DF for a long time.

They offered the job to Parr last week who knocked it back, despite telling applicants there would be second interviews.

In the mix are Martin Bullock Phil Moss+ those mentioned in sunday papers and one other!

And I think you'll find that was Tony's concern to begin with, sad really because he should of been hired before ossie was..

There are 3 decent names in the mix, Noyce? A pro at the game and would get us plenty of media exposure of the right sort. Buetner, well respected, Ben in business, involved in the NRL and speaks well and Zappia who if you know him would be an excellent fit, has contacts everywhere and is blue and gold through and through.
I spoke to him at our last game and he said that if the whole story came out about the incident at the Sharks he would be on safe ground.
Something about that club not prepared to spend to contest it and just settled as at the time they were broke, not a happy camper.
I will put my hand up and confirm that I would be more than happy to see Zapia get the gig, just to tick Raaay off.

Buddy, Zappia was quoted as saying that he punched that woman whilst shadow boxing. Just saying that makes him sound like an idiot. Now I don't care how vile she may have been, no woman deserves to be punched. Don't start me on the porn king that he is mates with too. He may have done great things in the past but our board would be insane to recruit him with that baggage hanging over him.

I heard Parr would have accepted the role but he was uncomfortable adding an 'a' to his name. Apparently it was a condition of acceptance. This may or may not be true.

So they went out and got Ozzie who has set this club back 10 years.

Then sacked him and didnt replace him for another full season and you wonder why we have the worst front office in the league

Who the hell is wondering mate? Nice try at deflection though. But yes because they are so inept I feel, rightly or wrongly, that they will chose the wrong guy again.

Your above statement only reaffirms what most of us who don't have a mate in the fight, already know about this useless & inferior board and it scares the bejesus out of us. See if you are truly impartial and detached from the politics and personalities around the club, I think you too would be shaking your head and horrified that a person who did what he did should, in the eyes of this board, even be a candidate in the first place.

These nongs obviously haven't learnt a thing in their time on the board.

Ability is one thing, but reputation is everything and this guy has got one for all the wrong reasons which will follow him always. So CEO should be the complete package, which he is not.

Zappia?? ...toxic??

yeah, he's 17 years here was total sham!!..

Sorry Stagger, but your opinion on this topic is colored through friendship and therefore rendered toxic.

But I understand and your loyalty is admirable. I'm sure he can be a nice guy when around people, just like pollies can be too, but we all know what they really are like though don't we?

I think you will find that Spags WAS pushing to have Zappia installed, prior to the fat controller. The majority of directors felt he was way too toxic. Hence, Spag's other boy, got the job! ;-)

Delboy...some of the things you have stated here make you look pretty silly, but then again...I know, loyalty...I get it.

Again another example of this boards pathetic leadership. Sure Zap's is not a suitable candidate, as I and others have stated, but they have supposedly brushed him for all the wrong reasons. Muppets, just a bunch of muppets. :x

I agree totally PJ Marshal. That to me should be the only way to go, and the only legitimate reason that could justify not having filled the vacancy for so long in the first place. Otherwise we could have hired someone within the game virtually straight away. But then again, we are talking about this useless lot.

That's disappointing if true. I'd like to think the club could move on from the DF era and not hold grudges like that and just put the football side first for once. Until the current board can do that I think we may just remain a struggling club and have to wait even longer for that premiership we've already been waiting so long for.
