A-League will get support from serious sports lovers if they quit the diving. Until then they'll just be stuck with this lot.

Do you think it's ok for defenders to foul as long as the ref doesn't see? Most dives happen because the ref doesn't pick up on foul contact.

My limited knowledge of soccer would disagree.
They dive because they are trying to score. The easiest way to score is from the penalty spot.

The dives in the penalty box are only the most visible, because they are replayed over and over.

The fact is, diving happens all over the field and is usually in response to sneaky foul play that the ref 'needs help' picking up on.

Agree there is incentive to dive inside the box, but without the threat of a penalty, defenders will cheat every single time.
