    Price's Eels were playing in a Sydney competition (Illawarra and Canberra joined in the latter years). Country had beaten City a few years before and Queensland beat NSW 82-85 (admittedly SOO). Not only was it a limited competition but it was possibly not the best in the country or even NSW...

    And there were 9 teams with the furtherest away at Canterbury which joined in 1935. In 1937 Country beat City in both matches So in 1935-7 Easts won the inner Sydney competition which was not even the strongest in NSW.

    St George’s run was in an inner city Sydney suburban competition. Parramatta’s was the same with the addition of Canberra and Illawarra in the latter years Penriths was in a competition involving Australasia

    My son won some tickets in a pub raffle and we had vacant seats on either side - the other raffle winners who didn’t show. I guess you don’t value something you don’t pay for.
