    Rumoured / Confirmed Signings

Marty was a player with a lot of heart and it was fitting that he became a permiership winner, unfortunately not with us. Poor old Jarrad A wasn't blessed with either footy skills or looks.

    Unmerged Tee shirt

I still have mine, it still fits and usually wear it to games with the merged scum and special occasions.

    OT: Dead hard rockers week

RIP Super producer / arranger / composer Quincy Jones. 91 a good innings and an incredible career, from producing Lesley Gore, Michael Jackson to jazz funk movie soundtracks and his most famous Soul Bossa Nova being featured in the Austin Powers movie and was sampled numerous times. I played...

RIP Terri Garr, best known for her roles in 70s and 80s movies such as Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind, Young Frankenstein and Tootsie. I quite liked her cameo in Martin Scorsese's 1985 movie The After Hours.

You know you just have to admit it.

What about Trindall ? I'm sure they'd love for him to be stepping into Luai's shoes. Sione Katoa, Ronaldo and Cam McInnes too.

I remember some of his perfectly timed passes.

    Keeping Tricky

Yes, but would he want to sign with them ? Hardly an exciting career move, unless you're towards the end of your career and are concealing a semi serious injury.

    OT: Dead hard rockers week

RIP Dick Diamonde, bass player from The Easybeats. I had the pleasure of meeting him through a friend at the old Lobster Pot pub in Ballina way back in 1980. Like me he was a very shy bass player. Come and See Her was his vocal debut.

Game day vs cowboys, can we finally win a finals match with fitz in charge and how will nicho go and will our forwards aim up and do their job

Nope, industrial action does not start until tomorrow. Losing tonight. Its a totally winnable game. We already know how we compare to the Panfers.

    Cowboys game

I'd like to think the Cows believe the hype and think they've got the game won before they step out onto the field.

    Cowboys game

This p**ses me off too. We have 2 teams in preliminary finals this Saturday. Those guys are a pool of potential future first graders. We also have the ladies team heading for the semi finals. 4 teams participating in finals is indicative of the club being a pretty successful organisation at...

    Team list Tuesday.

I'm not that brave, but I did enjoy going to Leichhardt on Sunday to watch our 2 teams for only $10. Going again this Saturday.

    Team list Tuesday.

Having watched the Newtown Jets in the flesh last Sunday I'd like to see Tuks in the team in place of Tom Hazleton, who looked totally busted on Saturday. Tuks had a great game. BHU is way off the pace, he was doing the bare minimum last Sunday. Otherwise I'd be making minimal changes unless...

Cronulla want home semi to avoid AFL finals clash and crowd embarrassment

I have the Metro from Cherrybrook Station to Central, then up Forveaux St and Cricketers Arms and Capt Cook Hotel. The drive from my joint to Shark Park on Fridays is awful but I do it as required.

Cronulla want home semi to avoid AFL finals clash and crowd embarrassment

Personally I'm happy with the Footy Stadium decision, better chance for a decent seat, better transport via the new Metro and no Friday night traffic to contend with to get to the game.

I remember Kenneth Cope in the series "Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) about 2 provate investigators, one of whom gets killed in the first episode and is a ghost for the rest of the series. Cope played Marty Hopkirk the ghost.

    Newtown Jets 2024

Anyone besides me heading to Leichhardt this afternoon for the double header, Sharks v Penrith - Jersey Flegg at 3pm followed by the Jets v Norths at 5pm ? A good antidote for yesterday's trainwreck.

    OT: Dead hard rockers week

RIP Lex who led a very full life, I first remember him as an announcer on 2JJ, a Sunday night comedy show with mate Ted Robinson (who produced many an ABC comedy series), then as breakfast announcer and even as a sideline eye for ABC radio rugba league broadcasts. When quizzed about his...
