Marty Taupau defects Kiwis for Samoa

Fifita can play for Tonga and nsw. There should (& one day will be) 3 stand alone mid year rep weekends for all nations and not just Australian origin players.

Problem is a lot of wingers can’t pass or defend to save themselves which is how they were put on the wing to start with.

    NRL Victoria

Nothing, they won’t be eligible for nsw & qld just as Melbourne juniors such as Mahe Fonua weren’t. The game on the road should always have Western Australia v Victoria origin teams playing as the Curtain raiser to nsw v qld! What is the point of a junior nsw v qld origin game played in Perth...

    Junior/Age Based World Cup

Agree with most but every 4 years is nowhere near enough. This means that many players will never have an opportunity to play in this all because they were born a year or two too late. I would prefer every year or at worst, every 2 years with regional tournaments every other year.

    Junior/Age Based World Cup

Rugby union under 20’s world championship games are all over fox sports this week. Surely this is something we should be aiming for as an extra tournament for rugby league every year or second year at worst.

    2019 Crowd Watch

    European Championship 2020 and Beyond

Domestic players should mean players developed domestically regardless of where they currently play. That is what the rule was originally going to be introduced for in 2007/08 for the World Cup.

    Because he’s Australian.

    Pangai Junior chooses Tonga

Mason was born in nz to an Aussie father and Tongan mother. He moved to Aus very young and has said numerous times he feels no connection to NZ and is Australian/Tongan.

    Pangai Junior chooses Tonga

Australia have no way of enforcing this rule. If NSW wanted to pick Fifita for game 1 and 3’they could certainly do it. Milford played for qld and Samoa last year. They could quite easily play origin and then for Tonga at the end of every year. I’m sure it will happen at some stage soon.

    Pangai Junior chooses Tonga

Does it still happen though? I know it has in the past but I was under the impression they couldn’t anymore.
