I'd start Soro and let Marto come off the bench.
The worst decision Ivan did was not let Marto have a week off before the finals. he's looked tired since Round 20.
Of course. But there were people in the other thread saying when Api leaves to let Luai go and get another hooker in. That literally makes no sense. Weakens us in 2 positions.
I don't think anyone is doubting that Luai is out of form vs the first 12 weeks in the season. He was arguably better than Clearly in the first half of the season and was streaks ahead of Munster and Walker as five-eight.
But I think it's downright stupid to give up on him considering it's...
I think Staines coming onto the wing makes sense given Souths tactic of kicking in behind last time out. So having that acceleration will help there.
For next year though...Staines needs to hit the gym hard. Then put up a fight to be fullback.
Then hopefully we can have a Crichton/Turuva...
I'm sorry but Staines last 4-5 games were so bad, he should have to earn a spot on the training ground.
There was one game, where he had like 2 runs and honestly - it was borderline cowardly.
Personally - I think he's 10kg too light - he gets rag-dolled far too often and never bends a line...
My team for this week - I want to give Marto a week off to rest up and freshen up for the finals. Been playing big minutes in the middle to cover for JFH the last 4 weeks.
1. Edwards, 2. Momo, 3. Crichton, 4. Burton, 5. Naden, 6. Luai, 7. Cleary, 8. Leota, 9. Api, 10. JFH, 11. Kikau, 12...
As Cleary said post match - TPJ's first match in 8 weeks. JFH to come back next week - first match in 4 weeks odd.
I'd be tempted to give Liam Martin 1 week rest in lead up to the finals as he looked a bit tired last night and has been putting in a tonne of work recently.
One play that I found particularly interesting last night that I hope we go back too more and keep building a foundation on as far as structure leading into the finals was TPJ running the inside post line with Kikau running the straight line off his inside shoulder.
For mine - I think this is...
How? He's always been unlikeable
Just need to look at some of his "beliefs" after he left us to see that.
He even did this with us - to take attention from the fact he is a mediocre coach - he whinges about everything. Nothing is ever his fault.
Nothing's changed except that his mates at NRL...
1. Dylan Edwards
2. Brent Naden
3. Stephen Crichton
4. Paul Momorovski
5. Taylan May
6. Jerome Luai
7. Matt Burton (Swap roles....Give Burton the reins...let Jerome play his natural game)
8. Moses Leota
9. Api Koroisou
10. Liam Martin
11. Bill Kikau
12. Kurt Capewell
13. Isaah Yeo
14. Mitch...
