    It would be interesting to see how those lower grade comps would go under the 5 metre rule if they got rid of the unlimited interchange.

    And this is where you need to be careful. Take the 10 metre rule for example. Great for NRL, full time professionals. Blokes playing C grade in the local comp are exhausted after 10 minutes. 5 metre rule would be much kinder to them.

    He just told the VRC they should move the Melbourne Cup from the first Tuesday in November. The Victorians will have a pink fit. He seems to be not concerned with shaking up the establishment and stepping on toes. Just the kind of guy Rugby League needs.

    I wonder if somebody could get Vossy to get on board and change this rule? He basically ran the campaign to get the rule changed that dealt with the corner post.

    I'd change the 40/20 rule to 50/20, but I'd make it that it goes both ways. So if you kick inside your own 20 and put it out past half way - you get the ball.

    So going by that - the touch judges shouldn't be walking or running on the field of play at all. It shits me how they wander onto the field during general play more and more.

    Absolutely agree. It’s been a problem for years and now it’s bitten the NRL on its arse in the biggest game of the year. What will be worse is that they won’t deal with it during the off-season.

    Wow. That’s bullshit. You can’t have refs changing their call on the run. Seems to be the “6 again” or “still last tackle” call where the issue mostly arises.

    Pretty much. It’s like when players at dummy half started deliberately passing the ball into players on the ground near the ruck to receive a penalty.
