    I I think you’ll find the vast majority of fans are in favour of the clampdown. It’s the usual suspects from channel 9 and some from the News Limited papers who whinge constantly. They need to build this up into some huge issue so they can justify running a story about it every day of the week.

    Agree. Walking off the mark used to be a penalty, but the powers that be decided to just get them to go back and play it - again, to reduce penalties. Now you have some players who take 2 steps forward and one to the side before they play the ball. Make it a penalty again I say.

    Well, it’s up to the players now. If they haven’t cottoned by now that the refs are serious, they deserve to be pinged.

    Love how the media says fans are split on their opinions regarding the refs. Reading comments on any story regarding tonight’s game, I would say that about 90% of comments were in favour of the refs.

    The media makes me sick. This will be blown out of proportion a la Steve Smith. The faux outrage from the commentators and ex players shows why none of these people should be allowed to influence the decision makers of the game.

    Needs 5 minute bin. Once a team concedes 5 or 10 penalties give the offender a mandatory 5 minutes.

    Blame Archer. He let standards slip over several years. Trying to rectify things in a short time is always going to ruffle feathers. Hope the refs and Greenburg stay strong and ignore Gould, Johns etc.

    So the NRL agreement regarding Grand Finals in Sydney was dependant on ANZ being re-configured - not rebuilt. I was under the assumption, obviously incorrectly, that they wanted a complete rebuild, or they would take the GF elsewhere.

    In a couple of years, the costs for Allianz will blow out, and then they will revise their plans for ANZ. Could possibly be a new government by then too. I wouldn't hold my breath regarding ANZ.
