    2025 Crowd Watch

There were nine games last year spread over four days. Same this year. Or in the future, women's origin could be played the same time as the men.

    2025 Crowd Watch

Splitting it over two venues kinda destroys the concept of Magic Round. You build a festival atmosphere in and around Caxton Street and Suncorp. Post Olympics, we are trying to justify a 63k oval stadium. There wasn't a demand to begin with, until Brisbane was announced as host of the...

    2025 Crowd Watch

Chances are Perth will enter the comp in 2027. There will be 18 teams, nine games per round. Which means the NRL would have to restructure the schedule of Magic Round from three to four days. Magic Round could increase attendance from 145k, 150k to maybe 175k, 180k. Thursday- 1 game Friday- 2...

If the actual name is Perth Bears, then that is a great move. Commentators, journos, players, coaches, CEOs and us fans will call them "Perth" or "Bears."If the name was Western Bears, then pretty much everyone would call them just "Bears". In the end, it will be a Perth team, barring one home...

Brisbane3 - What is needed to make it a successful bid?

I would personally like to see Christchurch as team 20 in 2033 followed by Ipswich as number 21. It is up to Ben Ikin and others involved in Qld rugby league to convince, lobby the Qld govt. and the NRL about Ipswich.

Hard to build a fortress with a ground where the Tigers only play three or four games a year.

    2025 Crowd Watch

Yep, and Wests Tigers played their "home" game in Parramatta against Parramatta. No wonder the Tigers have collected three wooden spoons in a row.

Brisbane3 - What is needed to make it a successful bid?

If Ipswich is 25k to 30k, then they should play majority of their home games at the ground, except for Broncos and Dolphins. Ipswich could transfer those two home games to Suncorp. Not a fan of rectangular sports played on oval grounds. It's up to the oval sports to fill it up with content.

Brisbane3 - What is needed to make it a successful bid?

Which new Brisbane stadium? At Ipswich or the 60k oval one?

Brisbane3 - What is needed to make it a successful bid?

So if team 20 enters in 2033, it would equate to four new teams coming in over a decade. Dolphins 2023, Perth Bears 2027, PNG 2028, Team 20 2033. Which is better than introducing four new teams at the same time like it was back in 1995. Just get the feeling that the NRL might be reactive with...

You could get 11 home games plus a double header with the Bears as the away side. Or alternatively maybe double header one year, origin the following year. We will soon find out.

    2025 R8 Fri - Sydney 46-18 St Geo Illa @ Allianz

If DCE goes to the Roosters, Dragons should go after Sandon Smith. Illias and Flanagan offer nothing.

    WA BEARS

If there is an annual double header in Perth with the Bears as the "away" team, then they can afford to take one "home" game to Sydney. Preferably at Allianz, not at NSO. And the teams who play their 'home" game in Perth, should be the "away" team in Magic Round the same year. Teams involved...

It will be at Sir Hubert Murray Stadium. The venue will apparently be upgraded in two stages with a capacity of 25,000. My bad, this should be at Future NRL Stadiums thread lol...

If they are insufficient in lighting and security, then PNG entry into the comp should be delayed. There's no pressure on PNG been team 18, where most likely it will be Perth.

    WA BEARS

Dolphins may not have landed "star players" in year 1, but did recruit three experienced Storm forwards and a promising young halfback like Isaiya Katoa, who potentially could become an elite halfback down the track. He was brilliant against the Storm. Perth just needs to be smart with their...

Just checked in with the AccuWeather website, it is currently 30 degrees in Port Moresby. At 2pm- 32°, 4pm- 30°. At 6pm-28°, 9pm- 26°. Saturday 9:30pm might be too late to generate sufficient ratings.

Not sure if the other 17 clubs would agree for all PNG home games to be played during the day.
