    Mighty Panthers V Parramatta

Can we take the COVID chat elsewhere? Cop enough of it as is. Do we think any of our Origin players will be rested? I would have thought we run out full strength given we have the Bye the following week and will want to use this game as a proper test.

    Rumoured & Confirmed Signings - Part 5

I've got nothing against the Peach, he's had a good season. I think with the space Nath & our pack provides to players like him he would be back in Origin contention. I just doubt we'll be signing any players from outside worth 200K+ for the foreseeable future.

    Round 20 v Storm

Looking like the only game of the season that might give any indication on who’s in front. Can’t wait. Round 20 & 21 has a stack of games between the top 6. In general the comp starts in earnest for us with this game. It’s gonna be a ride! Let’s hope Cleary et al can romp the Maroons and head...

    Rumoured & Confirmed Signings - Part 5

Keep Fish and Api, do your best to hang onto Kikau if he is open to reasonably significant unders ($650 or less) and replace everyone else with kids. We could run out the below in 23 without any drop off I think. Just need Staines (or Turuva/Crichton) to work out and take your pick of a couple...

    Round 15 V Roosters

Staines reads the game really well and is obviously a smart footy player. His decisions in defence are normally spot on and his positioning and timing on the end of backline movements is great. Hes also shown flashes of silky hands in very limited opportunities. Then he’s obviously shown in...

    Round 15 V Roosters

Happy to see Ivan rotating the squad. We lost those two games because our depth guys haven’t had enough time in the team and we need to change that over the next month. It’s hardly chopping and changing when our spine is cast in stone and we’re changing bench players and testing...

    Mighty pennies v the tigpies

Couldn’t catch the game. How did Tago, Smith, Hopgood and Salmon go?

    NSW Origin

I think Api is there because if Cook fails, he is in for game 2 and he’ll have had the full 10 days playing with the squad. I think the Maroons starting pack definitely looks better. Add Crichton in and it’s pretty even. Our bench looks a lot stronger and Grant going 80 is a huge gamble.

    Rumoured & Confirmed Signings - Part 5

You’d start with Leota and Martin with the same bench props and Tago/Hopgood/Sorenson taking the last bench spot. All would need to take more minutes and lift their output. We can’t replace him but I wouldn’t put a line through them if he went down. Leniu, Leota and Martin all have a lot more...

Match Discussion: Round 13 vs Penrith @ Leichhardt Oval

I reckon this is what you’ll be facing. Wouldnt be suprised if Falls/Sorenson/Momo/Staines is used as a right side lock down edge and all the traffic goes down the left with Burton/Kikau/Crichton/Rennings. Edwards, Rennings, Crichton, Momo, Staines, Burton, Falls, Fish, Kenny, Eisenhuth...

    Mighty pennies v the tigpies

I’m tipping the below side assuming Api and Moses are not able to play. I think Falls is the better option to pair with Burton than May. Just task him with organising and kicking and Burton can run plays and kick. May and Edwards will be more involved of course. I think the starting side will...

    Round 11 vs the Rabbitohs

Interesting to see where Tago slots in given he’s killed it pretty much every game in reggies at centre and second row. Surely he gets a few runs this year and takes either Burton’s spot or Martins bench spot next year.

    Round 10 panthers v titans

I could cop Wighton at centre over Latrell. Latrell was dropped for being a wanker when he was the best centre in the game and is still a wanker. He was crap last year but I think would be fine outside Luai/Crichton. At five eighth it would be a disaster. He’s in crap form and is an awful...

    Rumoured & Confirmed Signings - Part 5

Agree $750K would be tops for me. I’d keep him over Kikau but behind Api and $1M will not allow us to keep Api for another 3 years. Always good to have a couple real high quality forward leaders amongst the good value/young guys so would be a shame to lose him. I think Martin can be that guy...

    Round 10 panthers v titans

Yeah particularly since that decision probably cost him his first grade spot..

    Round 10 panthers v titans

While we are unlikely to be bothered by the Titans, they should give our defence a decent test before the Souths game which will be handy.

    Rumoured & Confirmed Signings - Part 5

I wonder if Manly would be interested in a loan swap for the year, Kenny for Taupau. I reckon off our bench Taupau could recapture his best form and a solid first grade hooker could really push Manly towards the top 8.

Think Penrith is doing well in the NRL? Check out the rest of the club

As others have said, plenty reserve credit, but for management to sign up and see through a rebuild so wholistic is quite rare in professional sport, particularly in Australia. Cleary or Griffin, and their equivalents in other roles, were never going to be the only guy to see us through the...

Round 8 vs The Silvertails (Manly)

I’d rather us throw the ball around and work up some chemistry on our plays against mid table teams than just suffocate them to death and then hope that our attack can somehow pull points out against fit and organised defences in the finals. I wouldn’t mind Kikau starting a few games off the...

Round 8 vs The Silvertails (Manly)

Agree Kikau has been more rocks than diamonds the last 4 weeks. The first 4 was the best I’ve seen him play. Give him a week or two if he needs it. Martin was our best tonight. He’s really come into some form the last 3 weeks. Crichtons defence was outstanding but no one else really stood out.
