    2023 R14 Sat - Warriors 30-8 Dolphins @ Go Media

Great point, and good distinction to draw between the two.

    2023 R14 Sat - Warriors 30-8 Dolphins @ Go Media

This last quarter has given us a glimpse of what the Warriors are capable of - look out when the full-80 effort happens.

    2023 R14 Sat - Warriors 30-8 Dolphins @ Go Media

That's the challenge, I guess - learning from last week's game and controlling the 2nd half better.

    2023 R14 Sat - Warriors 30-8 Dolphins @ Go Media

On the replay, even the camera-operator bought that dummy. Class :)

    18th club, whose next?

To be honest, I think a bid (or bids?) may emerge from NZ as soon as the NRL officially calls for bids - especially if the NRL mentions NZ as a place they'd like to look at. Mind you.. given that the move from 17 to 18 teams is pretty much inevitable, it's implied that a decision will need to...

Brisbane Tigers make their bid to be 18th team

I'd be wary of a joint bid, given the issues of our current joint venture clubs, but an agreement where Ipswich/Western Corridor doesn't bid against Easts, in return for something (games? Adding a color? Feeder arrangements?) may be beneficial. Especially if it doesn't stop Ipswich bidding (in...

    2023 R13 Sat - Warriors 22-26 Brisbane @ Napier

We should have been up by a try or two at half time, the two positives are that we didn't give up in the 2nd half and the for and against only took a hit by -4. We go again next week.

    2023 R13 Sat - Warriors 22-26 Brisbane @ Napier

Well, we screwed up too many chances in the first half - and it looks like it's gonna cost us BIG TIME. Not sure whether it was rustiness after the bye in that first half, or stage-fright in this Napier game, or just general deepness (I suspect all 3).. but the next 3 games look winnable -...

    2023 R13 Sat - Warriors 22-26 Brisbane @ Napier

15,600 attendance. Not bad at a 19,700 capacity provincial ground.

Brisbane Tigers make their bid to be 18th team

I wonder if it's a case of Easts saying to Ipswich "we'll play a game or two each season in Ipswich, and maybe add green to our colours if you endorse us"?

    2023 R13 Sat - Warriors 22-26 Brisbane @ Napier

I know right? Like "you have to immerse yourself in the stupid to transcend the stupid"

    2023 R13 Sat - Warriors 22-26 Brisbane @ Napier

Arghf#k. Classic 'against the run of play' opportunist try. Can't let it get us down.

    2023 R13 Sat - Warriors 22-26 Brisbane @ Napier

Gees.. the Broncos are just handing possession & territory away with all these errors.. I hope we get points off it soon.

    2023 R13 Sat - Warriors 22-26 Brisbane @ Napier

These Broncos errors are killing them.

    2023 R13 Sat - Warriors 22-26 Brisbane @ Napier

I think we're looking a lot better on attack, while the Broncos seem a bit clunky. Patience, and the tries will come. Oh and how damn good is that crowd? They're out in full vocal force in the Bay, bless 'em!

Brisbane Tigers make their bid to be 18th team

Good question - and I'd add the question "Would a successful Brisbane Easts bid encourage more Qld Cup Brisbane clubs to lobby the NRL to add THEM?" If a Easts-owned team can appeal to a wide market - especially all points south of the river - then there should be no need to add further teams...

Brisbane Tigers make their bid to be 18th team

Further to my post above... "But what of the islands?" you may say - well, set up a pathway & funding for Fiji's Silvertails to move from Ron Massey Cup to NSW Cup, and use similar pathways for club teams from Tonga & Samoa (either in NSW or Qld system) using some of that additional TV cash...

Brisbane Tigers make their bid to be 18th team

Perth as team 18. Then NZ 2 (where-ever that lands) and this 'Brisbane Tigers'-backed bid - encompassing Logan & Ipswich as you say - as teams 19 and 20, hopefully added at the same time to avoid an uneven sized competition. Add to that, regular games (at least 2 per year) in Adelaide.. build...

    18th club, whose next?

20th - Christchurch I admire your desire to do Perth & Adelaide next (nevermind Brisbane, the current Qld clubs need some time first), but NZ 2 is ready & worthwhile before PNG Darwin or Hobart.
