    Rumoured Signings

I get that, and I'm ambivalent as to which coach might be best equipped to pull it off. My question is more general in nature. But lets use Bellamy as the example then - could he see the value in signing Schuster and then back himself to instill the work ethic and all the other qualities needed...

    Rumoured Signings

If he's got any hope of reaching his undoubted potential, it has to be in a good system with a strong coach. Agree he doesn't have a show of making grade for those clubs right now.... but would Cleary, Bellamy or Robinson back themselves to sort him out? Because the potential upside is huge...

    NRL Rd 6 2024 - General Non-Warriors Thread

Yea the dude has been copping it in the media ever since he got that big extension. The NRL360 coverage of him has been fking toxic. They try qualify their comments by saying he's a good kid and he's talented blah blah blah but the criticism is just relentless. Its horrible. Other than Walsh...

    Michael Jennings

Thought he handled it well. And personally, I'm ok with how its all playing out. Time to move on I reckon.

Managed to find it on Sky on demand, thanks for the heads up  Man those scores bring back some memories… his running game was so impressive. What he could’ve done if that was coupled with the game management skills he has today. Be cool to hear him talk about some of his try assists...

Do you remember what the segment was called? Be keen to hunt around and see if I can find that. Love listening to ex-playmakers talk about how they structure plays, far more insightful than the journo waffle on NRL360

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

I’d watch that. More so than SR to be honest.

DCE is nearly that old already... just turned 35, still has next year on contract and Manly are apparently open to another if he wants it. That'd see him playing at 37 and I wouldnt bet against him the way he's going. Cooper Cronk didn't quite hit 36 but was only a couple months short when he...

Yea man that would be pretty special. If he avoids any major injuries I reckon he could play another couple years quite comfortably.

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

I did Welly a few times before the fun police killed it. One year I got so messed up I didnt even make it to the stadium.

Are the 2024 Warriors better than the 2023 Warriors? Can we go all the way?

I thought that too before the weekend but things looked much sharper against Souths. RTS, Rocco and Ford's tries were all really well executed within the 20m. Agree on the individual defensive lapses though, especially DWZ's habit of jamming in.

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

No argument there. When I say interest will be rekindled when the test season starts, that’s not to diminish the importance of fixing SR. That absolutely remains a priority for the code.

    Team v Manly

Oh yea I get that. I'm more thinking Laban, IMO, did enough to keep his bench spot as opposed to losing it to another debutante in Maiu'u.

    Team v Manly

That looks the goods... other than Metcalf that's probably the starting 13 Webby had in mind after the trials. You dont think Laban will get another run on the bench though? I thought he was solid on debut.

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

Yea Super 10, before the code turned professional, was only 8 weeks or so. I enjoy both codes but the chances of league taking over union here is miniscule, even with the NRL's balance sheet. The game is too deeply ingrained in the community, and even our national identity. But RL doesnt have...

Are the 2024 Warriors better than the 2023 Warriors? Can we go all the way?

I think that's a fair summation. If the question is are we better than last year, then sure I think that's clear. On paper we're definitely better than last year. But if the question is will we win comp... I think in a world where everyone across the comp is fit and in form, we'd still lag...

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

Axing SR and turning NPC professional? No they wont do it. They cant afford to for a bunch of reasons. And yea its still the biggest code here, despite its current struggles. SR is broken and I have no idea how it can be fixed but when the test season rolls around there'll be plenty of...

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

Yea agree. The game doesn't generate enough money here to support a fully professional NPC. That aside, I dnt think focusing domestically is a good idea in terms of staying competitive internationally.

    Team v Manly

Shit thats rough I reckon. Terrible for Ilias obviously, but the footage clearly shows Lussick was genuinely attempting a charge down. I mean I could understand some sort of suspension given the injury, but not 6-8 weeks.

    South Sydney Rabbitohs issues

Re: Bennet coming back to save the club - given JD was his guy, coming back to replace him is almost a tacit admission he got it wrong. How likely is that?
